Vance Rudolph Quailes Sr.

Vance Rudolph Quailes, Sr. transitioned from this world’s life to eternal rest to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, Delaware. Vance was born on September 10, 1948 to the late David Henry Quailes and Frances Virginia Jones Quailes. He received his education in the Dorchester County Public School system. Vance was a Proverbs 3:28 servant. “Do not say to your neighbor, ‘Come back tomorrow and I'll give it to you,’ when you already have it with you.” He had a unique artistic ability to bring out the beauty in any hidden treasures and could make junk into something beautiful. Vance could build or fix anything and often was everyone’s handyman where no job was too small or big. “No” was not in his vocabulary. Vance also loved to eat and would never turn down food. Vance’s contagious spirit brought a smile to everyone he met and talked with. Vance was employed at various places and served his employers to the best of his ability. He was loved and respected by his peers and coworkers. Some of his employment included The County School and The Tidewater Inn in Easton, MD, Teen Challenge in Seaford, Delaware, and God’s Way in Georgetown, DE. Vance was currently employed at the Senior Center in Seaford, Delaware. Vance served in several churches over the years including The Light House Church of God, under the leadership of Pastor Calvin Abbott in East New Market, Maryland, and Emmanuel Full Gospel, under the leadership of Pastor Diane Alexander in Seaford, Delaware, both of which he served as a deacon. His current house of worship was Crossroad Community Church, under the leadership of Pastor Rick Betts. Vance diligently and faithfully served in several ministries at Crossroad including SOS (Serving Our Savior), Kingdom Cleaners Ministry (Serving Hands Team), Singles Ministry, and Celebrate Recovery. Vance would graciously lend a helping hand wherever needed. Vance’s sense of humor will be greatly missed. He leaves to cherish his memories his children: son, Vance Quailes, Jr.; daughters, Lashonda Kane, Charity Johnson, and De’siyur Quailes; grandchildren, Terron Quailes, Monica Quailes, Dominique Kane, Andre Gibson, Jr., and Ja’bron Bolden; great-grandchildren, Mi’Asia, Bryan, Ry’Mir, Zavion, Ashton, Nyzir, and Journee; siblings, Hattie Savage, special brother and sidekick, David Quailes, Sr., Iris Quailes, Sylvia Quailes, Michael Quailes, Sr., Delba Robertson, Vanessa Jones, Cynthia Quailes, and Ron Lee Jones; Aunts, Victoria Jones and Wilsie Quailes; uncle, Dudley Lloyd; special friend, Russell Collins, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and acquaintances. Vance was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Reginald, Ira, Tyrone, and Alphonso.
