Thomas E. Cubbage

Thomas Eugene Cubbage, son of the late Joseph and Dorothy Cubbage, departed this life on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Bayhealth Medical Center. Mr. Cubbage was born March 22, 1952 in Dover, De. He was educated in the Public School System. Mr. Cubbage graduated from James. H. Groves High School in 1979. Mr. Cubbage at the time of his death was on medical disability. Throughout his life Mr. Cubbage held various jobs but driving trucks was his passion. Mr. Cubbage met the love of his life Margaret (Peggy) Neal in 1975. They have been together since his passing. The two of them enjoyed going to softball, basketball and football games, watching westerns and hosting family events. Mr. Cubbage was an avid Eagles fan and he loved to play golf (Tiger Woods, Jr.) Tommy, Cubb, Black Bart as he was affectionately known by many grew up in Union Baptist Church. He rededicated his life to Christ in 2012 under the leadership of Rev.C.V. Holmes, New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Dover, De. As an adult he enjoyed fellowshipping at various churches in the Dover Area. As a young child Tommy accepted the Lord as his savior and had a personal relationship with God. Tommy was an outgoing person, a people’s person. Everybody knew him and he knew everybody. He was a man that loved his family and friends. Always willing to lend a helping hand. His smile would light up a room and his personality was like no other he truly will be missed. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cubbage was preceded in death by his three older brothers Delbert, Roger and Norman Henry. As well as four aunts and two nephews. He leaves to mourn his loss, one son Keith D. Cubbage of Dover, De; one grandson Inkunyae Blu Saleem Ingram of Camden, DE; his wife of 40 years, Margaret (Peg) of Dover, De; two sisters Sarah (Doug) Miles and Evelyn Cubbage of Dover, De; two brothers Joseph Jr. and Phillip (La’Vern) Cubbage of Dover, De; two aunts Marion (Ervin) Whittington of Philadelphia, Pa and Lorraine (Jim) Hall of Upper Darby, Pa; a sister-in-law Betty Henry of Smyrna, De; four additional sister-in-laws, three brother-in-laws, adopted sister, Shirley Perry and family of Wyandanch, New York, nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins, a long list of long time friends and extended family and friends. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is death of his saints”.
