Sharon L. Palmer-Holley

Transitioning peacefully into “Glory”, Sharon Lavette Palmer Holley, borne as the fifth of ten children in Seaford, Delaware February 11, 1958. Sharon was the daughter of Deacon Joseph C. Palmer Sr. and Sister Virginia Palmer, who exited her earthly home to spend eternity in heaven on Monday, the 9th day of September, 2013. She was fifty-five years old. Sharon was raised in a loving Christian family. Sharon attended the Seaford School District, ending her education at Sussex Vocational Technical School studying Cosmetology. After school she immediately began working at Vlasics in Millsboro, Delaware for several years, and continued to work as a supervisor at Allen’s Family Foods, in Harbeson, Delaware for over ten years. From there she continued to work at Eastern Shore Poultry in Georgetown, De. She later worked at Johnny Janosik Inc. in Laurel, De for over ten years. She ended her work career at Comfort Inn and Suites in Seaford, De. Sharon was saved under the leadership of Reverend Leon Williams, Refuge Temple in Seaford, Delaware. Sharon attended Soul Saving Center, under the leadership of Pastor Willie Wright in Bridgeville, Delaware until her death. Sharon enjoyed knitting and crocheting, making several accessories for her family, friends, and her loving sidekick, her dog, Buster. Sharon met her husband Elwood Holley in 2004, they were united in holy matrimony on April 23, 2005. Sharon was a devoted wife, and loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was preceded in death by her sister Vanessa Hitchens of Laurel, DE. Sharon leaves very precious memories with her husband of eight years Elwood E. Holley. Her father (Joseph) and mother (Virginia), of Laurel, DE. Father-in-law (William) and Mother-in-law (Ellen) of Seaford, DE. Her loving daughters Sherell Dixon (Marki) of Seaford, DE; Latoya Palmer of Laurel, DE, and LaTonya Palmer of Seaford, DE. Her son Elwood Briggs of Federalsburg, MD; her brothers Gerald J. Echols (Linda Jo) of Newport News, VA; Joseph C. Palmer Jr. Lawrenceville, GA; Rayfield C. Palmer (Sandra) of Dagsboro, DE; Kevin Palmer (Shirley) of Selbyville, DE; Andre Palmer of PA and Patrick Palmer of Laurel, DE. Her sisters Althea White (Ty, deceased) Laurel, DE; and Verdine Puckham (Forest) of Laurel, DE. Sherwood Holley (Margaret) of Dover, DE; Mary Matthews of Seaford, DE; Clarence Holley of Seaford, DE; Patricia Nichols (James) of Seaford, DE; Peggy Hughes (Carlton, deceased) of Wilmington, DE; Barbara White (Edmond) of Boston, MA; Vonnette Holley of Seaford, DE; and Lynette Holley also of Augusta, GA. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Markell Dixon, Xavier Dixon, Tyrone Hickman, Journey Hearne, Jahiem, and Saiquan Briggs. She also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
