Obituary God saw the road was getting rough and a cure was not to be. He gently closed your eyes and whispered, “Come To Me." Surrounded by her loving family, Rosie Mae Collins, age 79, of Pocomoke City, MD, was called home to rest in God's arms on Friday, September 26, 2025. Rosie Mae was born in Pocomoke City on December 17, 1945 to the late Queen Esther Collins and the late Chester Leon Collins. She received her education in Worcester County and graduated from the old Worcester High in 1963. A lifelong and devoted member of Coolspring United Methodist Church, Rosie Mae served her community and her faith with dedication. She was a member of the Usher Board, sang in both the Inspiration and Senior Choirs, and for many years, helped in the kitchen. Throughout her life, Rosie Mae was a dedicated worker. She spent time at Golden Pride Chicken Factory, Buddie Boys, and Hudson Foods. She was also a talented prep cook at the Clarion Hotel in Ocean City until her health began to fail. Rosie Mae had a zest for life and simple pleasures. She loved to cook, complete puzzle books, listen to her Bible and gospel music, and she never missed her Westerns. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and talking with them on the phone. Even during her illness, she never complained, except when she had to endure a long conversation with her doctors. Rosie Mae's memory will be cherished by her family: one daughter, Samantha Hodges and one son, Travis Marshall (Pamela); eight grandchildren, Erica, Myron, Brittany, Shyanne, Brianna, Travis, Collin and Lauryn; eight great grand children, Zyaire, Zymere, Bryson, Aydin, Jude, Alyssa, Layla and Kaizer; three brothers and two sisters, Norman (Jean), Linwood, Elton (Mona), Amanda and Linda; one god-daughter, Kalisha Johnson; two god granddaughters, Destinee Johnson and Nikole Sessoms; one great god daughter, Harmonee Johnson; three aunts, Mamie Gumby, Elizabeth Watson and Bernadine Taylor Waters and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, Rosie Mae was preceded in death by her sister, Catherine Collins, and her grandmother, Edna Lee Taylor. Lovingly Submitted ~ The Family
