Robert H Crapper Sr.

Robert (Bobby) Crapper Sr. 91 left this life to be with the Lord, on April 27th, 2016, where he resided at Westminster Village, in Dover, Delaware. Mr. Robert Crapper was born February 11, 1925 to Mr. Robert and Helen Young Crapper. Mr. Crapper was employed for the State of Delaware Highway Department for approximately 15 years. He served as a janitor for the Milford School District and worked at Perdue for several years. He loved to work and held two jobs at one time most of his life. He enjoyed working in the yard and many times cut the grass twice to make sure it looked perfect. Mr. Crapper had a love for cars and had a great joy teaching his grandsons how to drive at a young age. He was known as a “taxi” driver, transporting his wife on many occasions to shop and visit the many Family members. He was a sharp dresser and was fond of wearing hats. In his young family years, Robert had many problems, however, he met the Master, and his life was forever changed, as he surrendered his life to Him. Robert was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God, in Lincoln, Delaware, where he sang with the “Gospel Crusaders”. Even in his last weeks of life, his first concern was for the members of the church, his children, and grandchildren. Mr. Crapper was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Helen Young Crapper, his brothers, Elwood, Joseph, Isaiah, Chester, and James. His sister, Alice Allen and first wife, Violet Crapper and daughter, Augusta Hope. He is survived by his wife, Schenida Crapper, of Dover. Two sons, Chester Hope of Frederica and Robert Crapper (Paulette), of Smyrna. Five daughters, Kathy Scott (Fred), of Camden, Alice Blackwell, of Lincoln, Lena Waples (Clifford), of Lincoln, Mary Crapper, of Frederica, and Justina Mack (Lee), of Dover, DE. 18 Grandchildren and 33 Great grandchildren. One sister, Evelyn Ingram, of Georgetown, Madeline Hope, and Julia Dickerson (Thomas) from Virginia. A host of cousins, nieces, nephews, church family, friends, a God daughter, Sabrina Haynes, and a special friend, Mother Dorothy Cartwright of Lincoln.
