Morris "Billy" William White Sr.

THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF Morris W. APRIL 25, 1945 – AUGUST 18, 2026 Morris William White, Sr., affectionately known as “Billy Boy,” passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on April 25, 1945, in Somerset County, Maryland, he was the son of the late Benjamin Camphor and Ethel Mae Horsey. His biological parents were the late Clarence Leroy Dorsey and Consuelo Louise White. Billy received his formal education from the Wicomico County school system, which served as a strong foundation for his life. During his high school years, he participated in the marching band. In his early years, he spent time in Jamaica, Queens, New York employed at a toy store before returning to Salisbury, Maryland. Upon his return, he worked for Campbell Soup and Dresser-Wayne. He then began his career as a truck driver, working for several prominent gas distribution companies to include Liquid Carbonic Gas Company, Gulf Oil, Inc., and Chevron Oil Company. During his successful truck driving career, he was admired and respected earning numerous safety driving honors, titles, and awards. Later in life, he discovered a true passion for manicuring lawns and transforming outdoor spaces. Guided by his entrepreneurial spirit, he founded his own landscaping business in 1982, Billy’s Lawn & Tree Service, Inc. He faithfully operated the business until his retirement in 2022, building a legacy of hard work, service, and independence. He took great pride in his work and building lasting relationships with his community. Outside of work, Billy was a deeply social person who loved to spend time with family and friends, always looking for a good time and sharing laughter with everyone he met. He was a former Master Mason of Lebanon Lodge No. 37 of Nanticoke, Maryland. In 1964, Billy was joined in holy matrimony to Linda Stevenson, and three children were born from their union. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Gregarious, outgoing, and jovial, Billy was often the life of the party and deeply cherished time with his loved ones. He enjoyed friendly gatherings, good food and drinks, and great company, and he welcomed others with warmth and hospitality. Those who knew him will fondly remember his playful request for “that hundred thousand dollars” and the way an outing with Billy could become an unexpected adventure. As a child, Billy learned to trust and love the Lord while attending Freedman’s Methodist Church in Tyaskin, Maryland. His faith remained an important part of his life, and he continued to grow in and support the church throughout the years. Billy leaves to cherish his memory three daughters: Dr. Michelle Milam of Glen Burnie, Maryland; Vanessa White (Vance Rolley) of Salisbury, Maryland; and Sheila Griffith (David) of Spring, Texas; and two sons: Charles Whittington of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Morris W. White, Jr. (Lytania) of Delmar, Maryland. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Ardyn Barton (Marlon), Kristin Milam, Devin Griffith (SyRita), Melondie Jackson, Garrett Milam, Brandon Griffith, Aniah Woolford (Darius), Jeremiah Whittingon, and Aunyae Whittington, and seven great-grandchildren. He leaves four sisters: Phyllis Dickerson (John), Mae “Pinky” Waters, Julia Harris (Darrell), Dequata Hollis, Freda Williams; four brothers: Isaac White, Sr., Roy Lee Dorsey, Clifton Brittingham, Jr., Wilbert Hollis, and Henry Fitchett; and one uncle, Sylvester White (Jeanette). Billy also leaves two godchildren, Vanessa Taylor and Stephanie Scott; extended family Shirley Brown (Al), Peggy Chase, Linda Roberts, Elise Deshields (Douglas), and Thomas Elsey (Dorothy); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandmother, Froney Baker; his former wife, Linda White; two brothers, Clyde Snowden, Sr., and Donald R. White; four aunts, Eleanor Holden, Myrtle Pearson, Gladys White, and Viola White, four uncles, Augustus White, Joseph White, Stephen White, Winfred Horsey, Standford Horsey, Sr., and William White; grandson, Devrett Griffith, niece, Ja’Tare Gibbs; and nephews, Clyde Snowden, Jr, and Maurice Dickerson. Billy’s warm spirit, generous hospitality, humor, and devotion to family will be deeply missed. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. MorrisW. White, Sr. Morris W.
