Michele Childs

Michele, affectionately called “Mima”, was the daughter of the late Adelson Cornier and loving mother, Lydia Cornier. Michele was born September 16, 1979, in Manhattan, New York. On the morning of Friday, July 24, 2021, she departed this life, while at home, surrounded by loved ones. Michele was educated in the New Jersey School System, and graduated from Teaneck High School in 1997. Michele furthered her education in insurance and received her diploma of Business Management from Wilmington University. Her first banking job was at SBLI in Manhattan. After three years of working there she moved on to HSBC in Delaware. Her career really took off in 2009, when she began working as a senior Obs Coordinator on a successful Paribus Team at Capital One. It was at Capital One where she was very well-liked and loved. Michele received numerous awards for job excellence in the past and even more recently. At the early age of 15, Michele met the love of her life, Chris, for the first time. As time went by, they lived in different states and by fate, reconnected at the age of 22. They were inseparable and later married on February 16, 2007. Michele was known for her infectious smile and laugh that would lift your spirits. Her personality was full of joy and warmth. To know her was to love her. We kindle and bask in her spirit as she has embedded it into our hearts. Michele was a vibrant woman, she always looked for adventure. In her past time, she enjoyed her children, individually leaving pieces of her with them. She loved going on family trips especially her favorite, cruises. If she were not on a cruise, she was home indulging in family game shows, impressing us consistently with her knowledge. Michele also enjoyed her yard work and having “me time” on her mower, that no one dare touch. She also loved to learn and try new recipes that she turned into her own. She made sure no one missed a meal. Michele had an interest in capturing sunsets; her photography was timeless, just as she. Michele was loved and always will be loved. Michele’s life unfortunately, ended too soon. Her life will forever be celebrated, and memories cherished. She leaves behind her devoted mother, Lydia Cornier; loving husband, Christopher Childs; five children, Alexis Cornier, Quran Childs, Jalen Childs, Chase Childs and MiAmor Childs; three grandchildren, Anastasia Cornier, Anais Cornier and Alessia Cornier; her dog, Beaux Childs; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and friends. The family would like to thank those special friends and family who were always there for her during the good times and the tough times. We are forever grateful.
