Matthew LeVar Crippen

MATTHEW’S JOURNEY Matthew LeVar Crippen (1991-2023) was born to Forest Crippen, Jr. and the late Donna Price on December 31, 1991, in Salisbury, Maryland. He departed this life on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. Matthew LeVar Crippen received a formal education at James M. Bennett High School in Salisbury, Maryland. He served in the United States Army 2012-2015, where he was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Patricia Crippen. Matt, as he was called by many, loved to work and he was employed at Evo and Perdue in Salisbury, Maryland. Matt was very instrumental and an asset at every place that employed him. He was a devoted son, a loving brother and a friend to many, an uncle and most importantly, a caregiver. During Matt’s call of duty in the United States Army, he received the Medal of Achievement Award and the M16 Sharpshooter Award. Matt was a man who possessed many talents and he loved to help those in need. Also, he would give you the shirt off his back and if you knew him or ever saw him, he would never have on a shirt. Matt was very free spirited and a loving person. He loved fishing, his dog “Mama” (his baby) and everybody’s children, even though he didn’t have any of his own. Matt truly loved football and he was definitely a fan of the Baltimore Ravens. Whenever he showed up and a game was going on, he was the life of the party. We will always have these memories of laughter and keep them going to remind us of him in the past, in the present and in the future! Matt, just know you will be greatly missed by many… Matthew LeVar Crippen leaves to cherish loving memories of his blessed life with: his wife, Patricia and his father, Forest E Crippen, Jr. (Chris), both of Salisbury, MD; brothers and sisters, VaShawn Price of Salisbury, MD, Michelle Crippen-Ayres (Norman) of Salisbury, MD, Ebony Crippen of Philadelphia, PA, TaKenya Crippen (Jarrell) of Pocomoke City, MD, TaKeshia Crippen (Terrance) of Philadelphia, PA and Forest Crippen III “Tre” of Salisbury, MD; his grandmother, Annie Byrd of Pocomoke City, MD; twenty-seven nieces and nephews; five uncles; seven aunts and a host of other relatives and friends.
