Mary A Robinson

Obituary Mary Anna Collins Robinson, a resident of Princess Anne, Maryland, departed this earthly life at the age of eighty-nine (89) on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Wicomico Nursing Home in Salisbury, Maryland. Mary was born on January 17, 1935 in Havre De Grace, Maryland to the late Frank and Lila G. Collins. Mary moved to Princess Anne, Maryland as a child and was educated in the Somerset County School system. She was employed by multiple companies prior to operating her in-home day care. Affectionately known to some as Aunt Mary, Cousin Mary and Ms. Mary, she was a pillar in the Greenwood community. As a faithful member of Mount Hope AME Zion Church, Mary was the former president of the senior usher board, choir member of the Gospel Associates, Mount Hope Mass Choir and the Senior Choir, as well as Deaconess of the church. In the community Mary would take care of her daycare children as if they were her own. She provided love and care to all. Outside of her work in the church and community, Mary enjoyed spending time with her family. She organized many family reunions as well as the annual Jones and Collins Day held at Mount Hope AME Zion Church. She also enjoyed listening to gospel music, watching her soap operas, cooking, sewing, gardening, shopping, and reading her Bible. Mary leaves to cherish her memory: five children, George (Darcel) Handy of Inkster, MI, Livingston (Paulette) Collins of Princess Anne, MD, Mary “Marie” (Lamont) Fortune of Salisbury, MD and Vernetta and Anna Collins, both of Princess Anne, MD; three stepsons, Kirby Jr, Luther and Ricky Robinson; one special bonus daughter Jeanette Showell Logan; nine grandchildren, Africa Handy of Huntsville, AL, Livelle Collins of Brooklyn, NY, Kenya (Mark) Arnold of Abingdon MD, Quinton Bailey, Sarah Hardy and Tiffany Robinson, all of Princess Anne, MD, Troy (Monique) Collins of Virginia Beach, VA, Shanita Collins of Princess Anne, MD and Clarence Mason of Dallas, TX; fifteen great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mary was preceded in death by her late husband, Kirby F Robinson, Sr., ten siblings (3 sisters and 7 brothers) as well as other relatives and friends. Sorrowfully Submitted ~ The Family
