Loretta Renee Brown

Loretta Renee Brown was called home on Friday, February 14, 2020 at John Hopkins Medical Center. She was born on September 18, 1964 in Salisbury, Maryland to Willie Mae Brown and the late Herman Brown. Loretta received her early education in Wicomico County public schools and later graduated from Parkside High School in 1982. She continued her education at Wor-Wic Community College and Sojourner Douglas Community College, where she earned her Early Child Care I & II degree. Loretta did not pursue her teaching career right away. She was employed at Kmart and K&L Microwave through the years and then became an early childhood Head Start teacher at Eden Head Start School in Eden, Maryland. She was known as “Brown.” She always had a passion for children and absolutely loved teaching and helping them develop their learning skills. At an early age, Loretta began her Christian life. She was an active member at Lighthouse Full Gospel C.O.G.I.C in Salisbury, Maryland. Loretta (aka “Lolo”) had such a loving spirit and enjoyed spending time with her family. She often got her family together for different occasions because she loved to help others and give encouraging words in time of need. Loretta loved fashion, music, her sunglasses and would never go without getting her nails and hair done. She made friends easily and was a delight to be around. She will be greatly missed by so many who had the pleasure of knowing her. If anyone knew Loretta they knew that she would call you anything but your actual name. Loretta leaves to cherish fond memories with her mother, Willie Mae; three children, Jackie, Maurice and Michele of Salisbury, MD; six grandchildren, Jaden, Alexus, Kiaira, Jakye, Brookelyn and Ny’erra; one sister, Karen (Randell) Wallop and one brother, Herman Brown, both of Salisbury, MD; her niece, Britney Wallop (favorite and only niece); nephews, Janile and Malik, both of Salisbury, MD and Herman Brown, Jr. of Baltimore, MD; her god mother, Jannetta Wallace of Salisbury, MD; god brother, Kevin Wallace of Baltimore, MD; three god children, Tierra Miles, Key’asia Smith and Kaden Hull; Dwayne Davis, the father of her children, with whom she had a special bond; special friend, Rollen Johnson; great aunt, Isabella Sailor of Harford, CT; aunts, Angelia Price of Fruitland, MD, Ruby Gilmore of Salisbury, MD, Teresa Price of Eden. MD, Callie Mae Brown of Eden, MD and Annie Brown of Columbia, MD; uncles, Jerry “Lucky” Price of Mardela Springs, MD, Robert Price of Silver Springs, MD, Roland Moore, Delmar, MD Therman (Barbara) Brown of Eden, MD, John (Bernell) Marshall of Bowie, MD, James Smith of Capital Heights, MD and Belgium (Bernice) Grimes of West Palm Beach, FL and a host of cousins and friends. In addition to her father, Herman Brown and brother, Bruce Brown Loretta was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Katherine Price and Gilmore and Marie Brown.
