Linnie Richardson Jr.

On October 5, 2017, Linnie Richardson, Jr. quietly departed this life to go home to be with his Heavenly Father. He was born in Salisbury, Maryland on May 1, 1932, and was the son of the late Linnie Richardson, Sr. and Virgie Chandler Richardson of Eden, Maryland. He attended Wicomico County Public Schools and graduated from Salisbury High School in 1951. He served in the United States Army for several years, while stationed in Korea. Mr. Richardson became a truck driver after his military duties. His work experiences included trucking in Baltimore, Chicago, New Jersey and Maryland. He knew so much about traveling through his experiences and was called upon to give family members directions when they traveled. He drove trucks locally for Joseph Hock Trucking, J.S.C. Hauling, Inc. and M.V.W Trucking. He retired in 2014 from driving a dump truck. He was a member of Teamster’s Union Local 311. Linnie was a very quiet person, who needed to really get to know you before he started talking. He loved his family and would do anything he could to help. His favorite topic was truck driving. He often shared stories of his career in trucking with anyone who would listen. He was a member of the Salisbury High School Alumni Association. Linnie Richardson, Jr. leaves to cherish precious memories: two sons, Ronald (Kathy) Richardson of Salisbury, Maryland and Dexter (Marilyn) of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Temeka Richardson and Roni Lee Richardson, both of Salisbury, Maryland and Melinda Duarte of Durham, North Carolina; four great grandchildren, Raekwon D. McCarter, Aaliya McCarter, Tykira Osborne and Amyria Osborne; two great-great grandchildren, Jaceon Gross and Nyla Gross; a very special cousin, Dr. Geri Mason; an adopted sister, Mrs. Thelma Tanner-Greene and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Linnie Richardson, Sr. and mother, Virgie Chandler Richardson as well as three sisters, Doretha, Mae Bell and Eatrice Richardson.
