Lester Elwood Collick Jr.

Lester’s Journey Lester Elwood Collick, Jr., affectionately called “Seat”, was a resident of Stockton, Maryland. At the age of fifty-six (56), he suddenly transitioned to eternal rest on Thursday, March 21, 2019. He was born on November 10, 1962 in Salisbury, Maryland to Lula Johnson and the late Lester Elwood Collick, Sr. He was joined in Holy matrimony to Gwendolyn McCaskill. “Seat” was educated in the public schools of Worcester and Somerset Counties. He was a 1980 graduate of Washington High School in Princess Anne, Maryland. Lester received his Christian education at an early age at Collins Temple Church in Snow Hill, Maryland. Immediately after high school, Lester was employed for a short time with HDO Productions in Rockville, Maryland. Due to Lester’s dedication and strong work ethic, his labor did not go unnoticed. He later was offered an opportunity to apply for a position in the White House. He applied and was hired in the area of operations-Executive Residence. Lester served under the leadership of Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Lester performed his job as if he was doing it unto the Glory of God. Highly thought of and respected, Lester worked for twenty-nine (29) years at the White House. During his tenure, he received many recognitions. At the time of his passing, Lester was employed with Transdev-Metro Access helping the disabled. Again, he was making life better for someone else. To know Lester was to love him. He was a character full of love and joy. He would always tell you, “I love you.” “Seat” was an amazing son, husband, father, son-in-law, brother, nephew, cousin and friend to all. He was also a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. Lester will be greatly missed by all who love him. To continue his legacy, he leaves: his mother, Lula (Richard) Robins of Stockton, MD; his wife, Gwendolyn Collick of Clinton, MD; one son, Rachid Parker (Brandi) of Silver Spring, MD; his stepson, Tony McCaskill of Clinton, MD; an adopted son, RaShawn Fayson of Clinton, MD; seven grandchildren, Jayden, Joshua and Jacob Parker; two sisters, Luzetta Collick Jones and Stellafay (Steven) Wright, both of Salisbury, MD; one brother, Robert (Jeannie) Waters of Salisbury, MD; two stepbrothers, Wendell Corbin of Glen Burnie, MD and Marvel Rhock of Mount Vernon, MD; one stepsister, Rhonda Jones of Virginia; five nephews, Jamarr (Anika) Jones of Towson, MD, Robert Waters lll of Salisbury MD; Jon Jones of Mount Vernon, MD, Terrell (Ashley) of Virginia and Jordan Jones of Princess Anne, MD; two nieces, Renell and Rachel Copes, both of Salisbury, MD; four step grandchildren, La’Rae, DeaRae and Anjuar McCaskill and Brianna Stephens and three step great grandchildren, Ava and D’Angelo Janey and Emari Courtney. He will also be lovingly remembered by: four aunts, Helen Martin of Baltimore, MD and Anna Milbourne, of Pocomoke City, MD, Floretta Marshall of Salisbury, MD and Lillie Marshall Collick of Delmar, MD; four uncles, Earl (Ronnie) Collick, Elroy (Winnie) Mason of Snow Hill, MD, Alexandra (Georgiana) Johnson of Salisbury MD and Severn Blake of Snow Hill, MD and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to his father, Lester Elwood Collick, Sr., he was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George (Willie) Johnson, paternal grandparents, Elroy (Thelma) Collick, stepson, Germaine McCaskill, uncle, Harrylee (Edna) Shrieves and two very special uncles, Elroy and James Collick.
