Kenneth Mark Walker

Life’s Reflections Kenneth Mark Walker, Sr., a resident of Salisbury, Maryland, was born on December 23, 1955 in Accomack County, Virginia to the late James C. Walker and Sadie Mae Newkirk. He suddenly departed this life at the age of sixty-four (64) on Monday August 31, 2020 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland. Reared by his aunt, Jeanette Mitchell, Kenneth received his early education from the Wicomico County public school system. He graduated in 1975 from Wicomico High School in Salisbury, Maryland. As a child Kenneth was very mischievous, a real comedian. He once had his younger sisters looking for money in a hole that he had dug, and to their surprise they found chicken intestines. He was very athletic and enjoyed playing soccer and basketball. His love for basketball and abilities on the court earned him the nickname “Chet” after NBA player Chester Walker. “Chet” was a true staple on the westside of Salisbury’s community. He was loved and respected by everyone whom he encountered. He accepted and reciprocated the love that was given. Chet was the true definition of “A FRIEND UNTIL THE END.” At the time of his passing, “Chet” was employed as a freelance landscaper, and took pride in his work. He was also employed at Price Check Convenience Store in Salisbury, Maryland. Chet would also perform odd jobs around the Salisbury area. He was previously employed with Salisbury Recycling Company, Campbell Soup and Purity Bacon, all located in Salisbury Maryland. Loving memories will be cherished by: his aunt, Jeanette Mitchell; six (6) children, LaToya Walker, Kenneth, Jr. (Chanda) Walker, Tyree (Danielle) Walker, Darian Walker and Aaron (Nikki) Walker, all of Salisbury, Maryland and Durrell (Vicky) Walker of Westover, Maryland; four (4) siblings, Dorothy White and Charlotte (James) Walker, both of Baltimore, MD and Sabrina (Quince) Lankford and Monica Walker, both of Salisbury, Maryland; seventeen (19) grandchildren Ju’Mareris Robinson, Rodney Smith, Jr., Jarren Smith, Kadeejah Walker and Kenneth Walker Kaila Weeks, Timia Walker, Lavarr Holbrook, Alyssa Walker, Darian Walker, Jr., Aniya Walker, Zoe` Walker, Malik Walker, Makai Walker, Aaven Walker, Aaliyah Walker, Aysen Walker, Elijah Walker and Durell Walker, Jr.; five (5) great grandchildren (5) bonus grandchildren, former wife, Debra Gaskins and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his daughter, Tyesha Walker, two brothers, Freddie Giddens and Carlos Newkirk, one sister, Patricia Samuels; and nephew, Antonio Bivens.
