Juliet Vandeyar

Juliet Pamela Vandeyar was a mother of strong Catholic faith. She was born on September 24th, 1942 in Georgetown, Guyana. She was an only child to Ismay Byrne. Being an only child she was filled with love and became a mother to 15 of her own children. Juliet was married to Hugh Vandeyar for about 25 years until their divorce. Four of her children left her very early, Troy at 9 months old, Mark at 8 years old and a pair of twins passed at birth. She leaves behind her living children Billy, Penelope, Dawn, Gale, Marcia, Simone, Rory, Tracy, Damian, Amanda & Marcelle. From some of those children she was blessed with her loving grandkids, Tanya, Michelle, Jason I, Jason B, Sasha, Chelsea, Mark, Dominic, Jessie, Nikita, Daniel, Aaliyah, Tariq & Gabriella M. From those grandchildren she became a great grandmother to Shamar, Gabriella, Isabella, Pandora, Luke, Juliana, Sebastian, Roman. She was dearly loved by her cousins, Marilyn, Mark, Christopher, Paul, Catherine, Felicity, Andrew, Peter, Michael, Agnes and Perpetua. She was always in best spirits when speaking and spending time with her friends, Mary, Jean, Erna, Sylvia, Enid, Audrey & Monica and they loved her dearly. Juliet was affectionately called many names by her large family and circle of friends. Her children referred to her as Mom or Ma, her grandchildren and great grands affectionately called her grandma and mama, her friends simply called her- Pam. Everyone knew her as being a woman of strong Catholic faith. Always attending church throughout the week and on weekends, as a member of Fatima Church & Brickdam Cathedral in Georgetown Guyana. Juliet enjoyed the simple things in life, reading her bible, watching biblical and classic movies that featured Clint Eastwood and Charles Bronson, she loved listening to music by Mahalia Jackson, Patsy Cline, Louis Armstrong and Frank Sinatra. She loved traditional Guyanese food, her sweets and an occasional beer would always put her in a great mood. As a dedicated mom she did not have all the answers but did her best by leaning to God with faith to guide her. All of her children can agree that she instilled in all of them the belief in God and that they must go to the Catholic Church. She often threatened her grand kids that if they did not go to church with a smile she would not allow them to go to the movies. Her faith was strong and she wanted that for her family. Her children and grand kids remember her as a funny lady, she was very spicy. Always set in her ways about what she wanted, what she wanted to do and how she wanted things to happen. It was very hard to convince her of another way but you could always manage to get her around if you tried hard enough and spoke to her with love and care. Juliet was a strong woman, she had 15 kids and raised 13 of them in Guyana with many hardships but she was a dedicated mom through hard times. She lovingly supported and cared for her children by instilling good values in her little army to all grow up and become independent, productive and positive members of society. She raised children of faith. She is loved, will be missed and remembered by family and everyone that ever met her. We love you sweet angel.
