Joseph Chase

A Time To Be Born: Joseph Chases was born in Trappe, MD on October 18, 1932 to the union of the late Josiah and Mary R. Chase. A Time To Plant: As a youngster , Joseph attended and was baptized in the Scott United Methodist Church in Trappe, MD. Later, he joined Greater Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church on Bethlehem Road in Preston, MD A Time To Learn: He was educated in the Talbot County School system. Upon graduation from Robert R. Moton High School, he joined the United States Army. He extended his service through active duty and was honorably discharged. A Time to Build: Upon completion of his military duties, he joined the work forces of life experiences. He worked for several businesses including Black & Decker, where he retired after many years of service. A Time to Love: Running equally to his love of life, was the love of his sons, Sam Wilson and Anthony Wilson (deceased). He was very much involved in their lives. A Time to Laugh: Joseph was a person who enjoyed fun and laughter and he also enjoyed a joke or two. He enjoyed playing cards and other activities with his family members. He enjoyed playing pinochle with his friends at the Easton Senior Center and the “Just Us” Card Club and Friday night Bid Wis games were a very important part of his life and he would often use the saying “friendship is essential to the soul.” A Time to Die: On April 14, 2015, “Joe” passed peacefully from this world into a dreamless sleep, after a courageous battle with cancer at the home of Jacqueline Gibbs in Trappe, MD. A Time of Peace: He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Samuel Wilson; a very devoted niece, Jacqueline Gibbs; four sisters, Anna Kilson of Baltimore, MD, Barbara Stanley and Joyce White of Trappe, MD and Mary Brooks of Easton, MD; four brothers, Walter (Helen) Chase of Trappe, MD, Robert (Harriet) Chase, David (Dawn) Chase of Ridgley, MD and James (Kathy) of Upper Marlboro, MD; one uncle, Douglas Gibson of Delaware; and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Wilson; brother, Charles Chase and sisters, Harriet Washington and Elizabeth Blackwell.
