John Alan Walker

John Alan Walker, son of the late William and Louise Walker, was born on January 20, 1965, in Wilmington General Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. Their bundle of joy was their fourth child and the baby boy of seven children. John went home to be with the Lord on March 24, 2018, at his home, in the city of Wilmington. John received his early education in Brandywine School District. He went on to graduate from William Penn High School in June 1982. In 1985, John enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served until his Medical discharge in 1990. John loved sports and played football as a youth, but the love of sports did not stop there. You could find John at all types of sporting events, especially WWF wrestling events, hockey, baseball and basketball. If he was home, you could tell when a game was on, because you could hear John yelling at the top of his lungs. John also loved music and traveling. He had no problem with jumping on a bus, plane or train to get to a concert, or music festival, especially any concert with Toni Braxton or Patti LaBelle. Wherever it was, John would get there. He also loved photography and had no problem showing you the stars that he had seen, including the pictures of him and his friend, Shemar Moore. John was the “man around town” and you would see him just about everywhere. He loved to walk, and most people who knew him would say, “There goes John Walker.” He was an avid reader and loved to go to the library. John is preceded in death by his parents, William and Louise Walker; brother, Douglas Griffith; aunts, Lucille Plummer, Ruth L. Miller, and Jeannette Miller and uncles, Richard Walker and Joseph Miller. John leaves to cherish his memory, brothers, William and Stephen Burton, of Wilmington, DE; sisters, Lisa Walker of Philadelphia, PA, Patricia Spencer of Wilmington, and Tracei Souell of Enterprise, AL; five Nephews; four nieces; godmother, Beatres Dunn; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and close family friends.
