Jacqueline D. Cephas

Jacqueline Dudley Cephas was born on Tuesday, July 11, 1961 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Lawrence David Dudley and Margaret Minthee Dudley. Jackie made her early departure on Wednesday, June 25, 2014. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and a true child of God. She was raised in a loving Christian home by her parents. As a child, she learned to know Christ and received Him as her personal Savior. Jacqueline received her education at Edmonson High School in Baltimore, Maryland in 1979. She attended Coppin State University and majored in Criminal Justice. Jackie had various jobs and was a diligent worker. She was employed at Townsend Poultry Plant in Millsboro, Delaware. Jackie served as supervisor there from 1992-1996. Jackie was also employed at Perdue Farms, Incorporated in Georgetown, Delaware, supervising from 1996 - 2012. Jacqueline was currently a machine operator at Kraft Foods in Federalsburg, Maryland. Jackie was one-of-a-kind with a big personality. She spoke her mind and was a “tell-it-like-it-is” sister. If she didn’t agree with you, she had no problem telling you how she felt. Jackie made numerous friends wherever she went. She loved experimenting with food and was an excellent cook. She loved the Baltimore Ravens and Maryland crabs. On July 5, 2013, Jacqueline was joined in holy matrimony to her longtime partner of 18 years, Laverne Dudley Cephas. In December of 2013, Jacqueline joined the Macedonia A.M.E. Church. She was a faithful member and served on the Usher Board. Jacqueline was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence David Dudley, her mother Margaret Menthee Dudley and one brother, Charles Bernard Dudley. Jackie leaves to cherish her memory, her wife, Lavern Dudley Cephas, her two brothers, Bishop David (Vernessia) Dudley and Ronald (Kimberly) Dudley of Baltimore, Maryland, her mother-in-law, Catherine Taylor, three brothers-in-law, Nathaniel (Betty) Cephas of Seaford, Delaware, Vincent (Alfreda) Cephas and George (Maria) Cephas of Delmar, Maryland, one sister-in-law, Brenda Cephas of Seaford, Delaware, three children, Clevon Cephas of Providence, Rhode Island, Nakisha Cephas of Seaford, Delaware and Shirley Ann Cephas of Dover Delaware, seven grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
