Gregory Edward Nealy

Gregory Edward Nealy, son of the late James and Susie Nealy, was born on August 6, 1962, in Trenton, New Jersey. He departed this life on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at the age of 55. He was educated in the Capitol School District’s public school system in Dover, Delaware. He had a special ‘Greg’ way that touched the hearts of those around him every day. He was known as ‘Pops’ to many, because he stood as a father figure, teaching them life lessons in his own special way. Gregory worked construction for the majority of his life, building houses and apartment buildings, in the Delmarva area. The most notable of Greg’s work accomplishments were helping to build the platform for the Million Man March in Washington, D.C. and the construction of the extended runway on Dover Air Force Base. Greg’s pride and joy was his granddaughter, Desirae. He was blessed with love and support from his “grandson”, Isaiah. Greg loved food, R&B music of the 70’s, and resting on Sundays. He also loved the Philadelphia Eagles and WWE wrestling. Gregory was preceded in death by his father, James Nealy and his mother, Susie Nealy who he affectionately called “Doc” because she could fix anything. Gregory leaves to mourn, his sisters, Linda Drummer (Charles) of Newark, DE and Beverly Santana (Charles) of Magnolia, DE; brothers, Kenneth Alston (Geraldine) of Enfield, NC, James Nealy, Jr., of Charleston, SC; two children, Joshua Jenkins of Dover, DE and Courtney Nealy of New Castle, DE; four step-children, Heather McKinney of New Castle, DE, Andrea McKinney, Brendon McKinney and Quareis McKinney all of Wilmington, DE; two grandchildren, Desirae Nealy and Mykayla Nealy of New Castle, DE; 14 step-grandchildren; aunts, uncles, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
