Gladys M. Kiser

Gladys M. Kiser was born on March 22, 1948 in Camden, North Carolina to Fred E. and Marjorie L. Spellman. She peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 5, 2014 at her daughter's home in Lincoln, Delaware. Gladys attended Benjamin Banneker and Slaughter Neck elementary schools, and graduated from Jason High School in Georgetown, Delaware. After graduation, she began working at NCR in Millsboro, Delaware. She met and married Henry Mitchell and to this union they had one child. After the closing of NCR, Gladys worked at Burris Poultry where she met and married Raymond Kiser and to this union was born two children. She received her Certificate for Senior Care Specialist at the Milford Nursing Home, this was her joy for she loved helping people. Because of Christ in her life, and the heart like her Dad she had such a passion to be a blessing whenever and wherever there was a need. She accepted Christ at an early age growing up in the Mt. Enon Baptist Church in Milford, Delaware under the leaderships of Reverend Downing and Reverend Freeman. There she served as usher, choir member, teacher and wherever needed. In 1984, she became a member of the Mt. Zion Church in Georgetown, Delaware under the leadership of Pastor Clarence Sample, Jr. where she served as superintendent and teacher of the junior class. During the holidays, we would see her and Sister Sharon getting their ideas together to work with the programs for the children. Her delight was in seeing the children growing in the Lord. We will always remember her strong faith and oh how she loveD to praise the Lord with shouts of praise. Gladys was preceded in death by her father, the late Fred E. Spellman, Sr., her brother, Fred E. Spellman, Jr., and her brother-in-law, Pastor Clarence Sample, Jr. She leaves to mourn her husband, Raymond Kiser of 40 years; one daughter, Yvette (Nicky) Mitchell, Lincoln, DE; two sons, Antonio (Tony) Kiser and Faron Kiser, Dover, DE; mother, Marjoire Spellman, Millsboro, DE; three sisters, Diane (Joseph) White, Lincoln, DE, Jackie (Andrew) Jefferson, Anaheim, CA, and Angela Sample, Millsboro, DE; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and church family.
