Gerald Dion Timmons Sr.

Gerald "G" Dion Timmons, Sr., was born in Camden, NJ on November 15, 1964 to the late Delsie Mae Timmons. Gerald was the youngest of Delsie's three sons. During his early youth, they eventually moved to Maryland. Maryland is where Gerald's legacy was built. As a child, many would say he was fearless, adventurous and at times, maybe a bit mischievous. Early in life, Gerald knew what he desired his life to be like. He set goals and became the man he wanted to be. Gerald attended the public school system in Worcester County, MD. He was a graduate of the class of 1982 from Snow Hill High. At an early age, Gerald professed his faith to Jesus Christ and joined Calvary United Methodist Church (Berlin, MD). He was a true, dedicated member and served faithfully as the head trustee, and wore many hats in Calvary. As a young adult, Gerald would meet and fall in love with his wife, Tammy Yvette Timmons. On May 4, 1996 they were married and from their union they were blessed with two beautiful children, Germeka Timmons and Gerald Timmons, Jr. and a very special daughter/granddaughter, Gi'Ahna Timmons and Bella Timmons. Forty plus years later, their love has withstood the test of time! Gerald was a hard working, dedicated man. Whether at home with his loving family or at work with his coworkers, you could always depend on Gerald. He retired from two jobs, Acme Market and the Cable Company. If Gerald said, "He Got You," that's truly what he meant. Gerald was the type of man who made sure his family was well taken care of at all costs. He made sure they never wanted for anything, never wanted for love, never wanted for time, and never wanted financially! Gerald was a God-fearing man who kept his family covered daily in prayer! Gerald was a dreamer and worked hard daily to ensure his family knew exactly how to live life and enjoy the fruits of their labor. He enjoyed camping with his family and friends. In his younger years, you could catch him break dancing with the boys or playing a pick up game of basketball!! He loved a clean ride and enjoyed fast cars and motorcycles!! Gerald never met a stranger and was always willing to help those in need. Some days you could find Gerald picking up food and delivering to the less fortunate or feeding those who approached him in need. When Gerald wasn't working his "9-5" at FedEx, where he dedicated more than 30 plus years of service, you would find him somewhere with a hammer, tape measure in hand, plumbing, building, or even cutting grass. He was a jack of all trades and a master of all! He was preceded in death by: his mother, Delsie Mae Timmons; (grandparents) Daddy Fletcher Timmons and Mollie Ann Timmons; (uncles) Samuel D. Timmons, William L. Timmons, Garfield E. Timmons and Eli Timmons; (aunts) Mildred L. Timmons, Rose Marie Johnson, Ardella Timmons and (mother-in-love), Mable Leonard. Surviving to cherish precious memories of their loved one are: his wife, Tammy Yvette Timmons; his two children, Germeka Timmons (Mark) and Gerald Timmons, Jr. (Courtney); a special niece whom he raised as his own, Kalisha Johnson; The Apple of his Eye, Gi'Ahna Timmons; special four-legged granddaughter, Bella Timmons; god children, Joel Foreman, Lalia Foreman, Jeremiah Foreman and Leah Foreman; four brothers, Wendell Timmons, Malcolm Timmons (Susan), Kevin Harmon (Shelly), and Felix Rounds, Sr. (Roxanne); father-in-love, Roy Leonard, Sr.; brothers-in-law, Calvin Hoskins, Aaron Hoskins and Bruce Dennis; sisters/cousins, Reatta Tate (Benjamin) and Tammy T. Timmons (Gilbert); sisters-in-laws, Dora Leonard, Glenda Holden (Alphonso) and Carla Leonard; uncles, Hilton Timmons, Sr. and Rudolph Timmons; nine nieces and four nephews and a host of cousins, friends and FedEx Family.
