Frances E White

France Emma White, was born on July 7, 1942 in Salisbury, Maryland to the late Emma Cora Palmer and Ralph Palmer of Salisbury, Maryland. She departed this life on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland, after battling a long illness. Frances received her formal education at Salisbury High School in Wicomico County. She was also a graduate of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, obtaining a certificate in Biblical Studies. Frances was a woman dedicated to caring for her family and friends. She made it her life’s goal to ensure that her family, friends, and church were showered with love and affection that was second only to the love of God. Frances was known for her stylish dress and her beautiful captivating smile. She had the ability to light up any room just by her presence. She loved home decorating, shopping, traveling, and cooking. In 1961, she started her cooking career at Peninsula General Hospital in Salisbury, Maryland, in the Dietary Department, where she served for over forty (40) years. Also, in 1961 she was hired as a Breakfast Cook, during the time when the hospital had a kitchen on every floor. In 1970, she transitioned to Relief Baker and then to Line Cook. Throughout her 40-year career, Frances was a trusted and key team player. She was one of the leaders in the development, modernization, consolidation, and centralization of kitchens of the hospital’s food service department. Her countless, notable contributions to the hospital’s Food Service Department aided tremendously to the overall growth, development, and implementation of the superior and unsurpassed way that food is prepared, displayed and served. She always was known for her willingness to step up and take on new challenges and to mentor and mother many of the hospital staff. As well as being a rock of support for those who were sick and weak in faith, Frances will always be remembered for her special way of touching the hearts of those she met and the many smiles and laughter exchanged that would warm their heart and soul. Frances’ loving memories will be cherished by: her son, Robert R. Banks III of Temple Hills, Maryland; God-Daughter, Ruth Blake of Stockton, Maryland; brother David Nixon (Stephanie) of New York; sisters, Vivian Wise of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Rachel Anderson (Claude) of Columbus, Ohio, Deborah Hines of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Valerie Nixon of Tacoma, Washington. Also, to hold dear to her memories are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard R. Nixon and Kenneth W. Nixon and sister, Regina E. Nixon. Frances is going to be deeply missed by all of us. She is gone but NEVER will be forgotten. LOVINGLY SUBMITTED ~ THE FAMILY
