Donte Taylor

Donte D. Taylor, of Seaford, Delaware, transitioned from this earthly realm on October 31, 2021, at TitleHealth Medical Center in Seaford, Delaware. He was born on February 28, 1970, in Cambridge, Maryland, to the late Jeanette Barbara Taylor and Sgt. Wilbert Henry Johnson. Donte received his education in the Dorchester County School System and later acquired his GED. Donte worked various jobs, but loved to work with the youth, as a Youth Counselor at the Chesapeake Youth Center. For numerous years, he later worked as an installer for Atlantic Broadband. His last job was at United Needs Abilities (UNA) in Salisbury, Maryland for eight years until his health failed. Donte D. Taylor was a loving family man (a gentle giant) that would help anyone in need. To know Donte was to love Donte. He had a big heart with a lovable spirit; a true humanitarian. He was a member of the following organizations: the Founder and Grandmaster of the Genesis Grand Lodge of Delaware as a 33rd degree Mason, under the jurisdiction of the Celestial Supreme Council; was a current member of Wisdom Lodge #7 of Delaware; Odd Fellows; Co-founder of Groove City Entertainments and World Play DJ’s, better known as DJ DeboDaPro. He also enjoyed being a part of the panel of Hilltop Radio Show, as DJ for 99.9 WJCB. In addition to his parents, Donte D. Taylor was preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie Smallwood; uncles, Samuel Page, Albert Jones; and aunt, Malinda Wongus. Donte D. Taylor leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Mrs. Trawana James-Taylor of Seaford, DE; five children; Candance James-Waples of Seaford, DE, Nicole Shivers and Brittany Bratten both of Salisbury, MD, Damita May of Las Vegas, NV and Jay Taylor of Ohio; five grandchildren, Kyree Nelson, Jeron Jones and Kaiden Bratten all of Salisbury, MD, Candon James-Stanley of Seaford, DE and Saniah Bell of Las Vegas, NV; three sisters, Michelle Darling of Cambridge, MD, LaSonya Taylor of Hurlock, MD and Keyania Taylor of Cambridge, MD; three brothers, James Taylor of Glen Burnie, MD, Wilbert Johnson of Cambridge, MD and Jermaine Johnson of Georgia; mother-in-law, Bennie M. Demby (Alexander) of Seaford, DE; stepfather, Andrew Rogers; brother-in-law, Theo Bolden (Sylvana) of La Plata, MD; sisters-in-law, Joy Bolden of Bridgeville, DE, Lisa James of Seaford, DE and Kristi Bolden of Bridgeville, DE; special brother, Charles Neal of Salisbury, MD; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
