Donald Lee Maddox

Donald Lee Maddox, a longtime resident of Marion Station, Maryland, passed from earth to glory on Friday, March 26, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. After a courageous battle with cancer, Donald was called home at the age of seventy (70) to rest with his Lord and Savior. Born on February 2, 1951 to the late Forewell and Ruth Maddox, Donald received his formal education through the Somerset County school system. He graduated from Carter G. Woodson High School in 1969 and was the class president. Throughout the years, Donald received many awards, accolades and recognition for exemplary service. He was employed at several jobs including Sears & Roebuck, The American Red Cross, Medical College of VA Hospital and lastly, Tidal Health Peninsula Regional, from where he retired on January 31, 2020. Donald was very active and supportive of the Foundation at Tidal Health Peninsula Regional. He was also an active and supportive member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Princess Anne, Maryland. While we all mourn his passing and share in his family’s grief, the Tidal Health family is saddened because of his passing as well after a valiant battle with cancer. He retired last year after serving as a longtime supervisor in the Linen Department and then in 2014 as a valet, which is where many of you probably had the great pleasure of meeting and knowing Don. His valet service truly made a positive impression on patients, families and staff alike; he was an outstanding model for providing a warm greeting. He was beloved by many, and was known for his warmth and constant willingness to help others. He will be greatly missed by his family connected not by blood, but by love and respect. In addition to his parents, Donald is rejoicing in heaven with his brothers Forewell (Chuck) Jr. and Carey Maddox. Donald’s life, legacy and precious memories will be cherished by: his loving wife of 41/2 years, Betsyann P. Maddox of Powellville, Maryland; his brother, Darnell (Stephanie) Maddox of Crisfield Maryland; his children, Donald Shreeves of Crisfield Maryland, Katie (Ryan) Clark of Dagsboro, Delaware, Sean (Devin) Brittingham of Delmar Maryland and Daniel Brittingham of Salisbury, Maryland; his beloved grandchildren, Elijah Jones-Clark and Harper Clark as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Donald had a loving smile and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by all. Lovingly Submitted ~ The Family
