Dolores Clark

Dolores Fushec Clark was born on September 9, 1930 to the late Ellen Fushec Clark Bowman and Spencer Kater, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At an early age she accepted Christ. Dolores received her formal education in the Philadelphia Public School System. Dolores began her career in the manufacturing industry and that lasted over 30 years. In the 1990's she made a career change and became a Certified Nursing Assistant. She remained in that career until she retired. She was very passionate about that career, as she had a great love for people, a big heart, and enjoyed helping others. She was an excellent Caregiver. Dolores was a very loving and giving person. She had an infectious smile that would light up any room. She enjoyed socializing with her friends, going to Atlantic City, and seeing shows. When Dolores retired she could often be found hanging out with her girl friends having a good time at the Gallery in Philly, where they lunched, or ate dinner and had great girl talk. She loved to cook and an awesome cook she was. Baking was one of her favorite hobbies. Whenever there was a family gathering she would be called upon to make her sweet potato pies and her famous turkey dressing. She was the best. Dolores was an avid sports fan and she loved her Phillies. She would call her brother, while the games were on and they would have a good time talking and watching the game together. You could not move her from the television or radio during the World Series. She was definitely a big fan. Family was important to Dolores, she loved them all dearly. Dolores had a beautiful, loving relationship with her daughter whom she adored and called Peaches. You could always find Dolores and Peaches together whether they were shopping, eating, getting pedicures or just spending quality time. They were best friends and truly had an unbreakable bond. In November 1975, she gained a wonderful son-in-law to share in her life. Dolores enjoyed spending time with her two grandchildren who she affectionately called Duke and Sissy. She was crazy about them and you could often find the three of them laughing and acting silly. She shared a special bond with her niece, Lauren. They talked daily on the phone and Lauren was always there for her Aunt Dee. Her eldest niece Yvonne was very faithful to her. Dolores moved to Middletown DE in 2012. She became a member of the MOT Senior Center and acquired many friendships. She always had that warm inviting smile which made it easy to meet people. She became known at the Center for her love of card games. Her favorite games were Bingo and Pokeno. Also, she enjoyed going on day trips with the Senior group and on many of those trips her daughter would go along with her. She was a doting grandmother and a great- grandmother. One of her greatest past times after she moved to Delaware was spending lots of time with her great -granddaughters who she affectionately called "the girls". She could not get enough of them and they couldn't get enough of their Nana. She loved her two great -grandsons and was always happy to see them. Dolores leaves behind to cherish fond memories; her loving daughter Marsha Wesley, Son-in Law, David Wesley, grandson DeWaune Wesley, granddaughter Sheena Wesley, great-grandsons, Devon Wesley and Dhamir Wesley, great-granddaughters Trinity Wesley, and Destiny Wesley. Three loving sisters, Shirley Covington, Pauline Burwell and Mary Ellen Jones, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dolores was preceded in death by her sisters Gloria Clark, Margaret Clark, Virginia Bowman, Levonia Majors, Ruby Pennick and brother Edward Clark.
