Delores Elizabeth Cropper

Obituary On January 18, 1945, in Worcester County, Maryland, Delores was welcomed into this world by her parents, the late Sarah Coleman and Harry Rowley. Delores was educated in the Worcester County school district in Newark, Maryland. After completing her education, she was employed by several families as a housekeeper. She was also gainfully employed by Golden Pride Poultry Company and Assisted Living Care for the Elderly. Delores confessed her faith in God in her youth. Subsequently, she was baptized and became a member of New Macedonia Baptist Church in Pocomoke City, Maryland under the Pastorate of Bishop Isaac Jenkins, Sr. After much prayer and seeking God for direction, Delores became a faithful and dedicated member of St. John Independent Church in Messongo, Virginia under the leadership and servanthood of Pastor Brenda S. Wise. Delores loved to praise God and requested the Praise Team to sing “God Is My Everything” and no matter what was going on, she rejoiced. Delores delighted herself in the Lord; attending Sunday School and Bible Study to enhance her knowledge and understanding of her God and the Lord Jesus Christ. . Delores delighted herself with doing puzzles and enjoying her favorite snacks—root beer barrels, kettle corn chips and mini pies. You could find her checking out the latest goodies being offered and filling her candy bag to share with her church family. She quickly became enamored to her Pastor and Sister Martha Anderson, who gladly chauffeured her to church. She was married to Marvin Cropper and to this union three children were born: Odessa, Maurice and Wayne. Calvin Tull and she were happy to make the trio a foursome with their daughter, Shalinda. On Christmas morning at 12:36 a.m., God dispatched angels to call his daughter to eternal rest. Delores’ parents, her son Wayne and daughter Odessa preceded her in death. Cherished memories of her life will be treasured by: her daughter Shalinda and son Maurice; ten grandchildren, Dameera, Drekwon, Dashon, Diamonae, Keondrick, Kavon, Kyheem, James, Tiffany and Amber; twelve, great grandchildren, Delilah, Kaliana, Ryan, Dessa, Desya, Desra, Dezmond, Joven, Jayquan, Kadrian, Jourdan and James Edward IV and the family of St. John Independent Church.
