Deborah Ann Jones

Deborah’s Journey Deborah Ann Jones, also known as “Debbie”, was born on Friday, February 10, 1956 in Salisbury, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late David Gardner Jones, Sr. and Dorothy Jones Bateman. She was called home to be with God on Thursday, August 8, 2024. Debbie was a 1974 graduate of James M. Bennett Senior High School in Salisbury, Maryland. During her school years, she excelled in basketball, softball, track and field. She was inducted into the Baltimore Hall of Fame for Track and Field. Debbie was a long time member of Wesley Temple United Methodist Church. She sang with the Wesley Temple Gospel Choir, Gospel Messengers and the Wesley Temple Multitude of Praise. She volunteered for years with the food ministry alongside her long time friend, Wallace Mann. Over the years Debbie worked as an electrical assembler. She was employed by Heinemann Electric and Comtek. Her last employment was with K&L Microwave. Debbie took pride in being a grandmother. She would always show up and show out for her grandsons. She played a valuable role in raising all three of her grandsons, Tabius, Jeremiah and Cameron. Debbie enjoyed cooking and of course posting all of her meals on Facebook for everyone to see. She also enjoyed watching football; she loved the Baltimore Ravens. You could always count on her because she loved helping others. Cherished memories remain with: her daughter, Tyeesha Peterson; grandsons, Tabius Cannon, Jr., Jeremiah Barkley and Cameron Hutt; sister, Shirley W. Jones; nephews, Ronald Jones, Jr. and Ivan Jones; nieces, Denine Jones, Sheree Jones and Carileigh Jones; two aunts, Brenda Jernigan and Clementine Conway; one god daughter, Dia Hitch; an adopted son, Joey Black, Jr.; a special group of best friends, Lauren Dorman, April Jackson, Karen Rogers and Roslyn Rogers and a host of other relatives, friends and loved ones. In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by: one son, Tabius Cannon, Sr.; two sisters, Jackie Bailey and Pauretta Gaddis; three brothers, David Jones, Jr., Timothy Jones and Ronald Gardner Jones, Sr. and her grandparents, Marge and Armenus Williams. Debbie was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, godmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She was loved by many and will truly be missed. Lovingly Submitted by the Family
