JOURNEY OF LIFE DeAngela Meekins, affectionately known as “Gee,” passed away on April 10, 2026 at the age of forty-one (41). Born on November 27, 1984 to Wilma Brown and Anthony Meekins, Gee was raised in Cambridge, Maryland, where she attended Dorchester County Public Schools and graduated from Cambridge-South Dorchester High School in 2002. She later attended Delmarva Beauty Academy in 2022, where she earned her cosmetology license. A devoted mother, Gee leaves behind her two handsome sons, Jordan and Johan who were truly her heartbeats and greatest joy. She also cherished her role as a grandmother, spending as much time as she could with her beautiful granddaughter, Lailani, who brought her immense pride and happiness. Gee shared a special bond with her sister, Ann – later growing up like “2 peas in a pod,” and becoming inseparable best friends in adulthood. Their connection was loyalty and laughter that carried them through life side by side. Gee was a light in every room– a sweet spirit with a vibrant personality and a natural gift in the kitchen, making her a chef in her own right. She had a way of making people laugh out loud with her humor and warmth. In her downtime, she loved connecting with others, especially through her Facebook live karaoke sessions, joyfully asking, “What y’all want me to sing today?”- a phrase that will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew her. She also loved fishing and sitting peacefully by the water. Gee found the love of her life in Kermit Johnson, whom she affectionately referred to as “my man, my man, my mannnn”--a reflection of the deep love and joy they shared together. Gee will be remembered for her love, her laughter, and the joy she brought to so many lives. Her memory will live on in her children, her family, and all who had the blessing of knowing her.
