David Lee Baines

David’s Story David Lee Baines was born October 13, 1948 in Salisbury, Maryland to the late David I. Baines and Martha Foreman-Baines. He entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at his home in Snow Hill, Maryland. David received his early education at Mount Wesley School and graduated from Worcester High School in 1967. During his youth, he received his spiritual training at Mount Wesley United Methodist Church. After a 35-year relationship, he was joined in holy matrimony to Yvonne (Askew) Baines on June 15, 2007. David entered the military on November 26, 1968 and returned on July 21, 1970. David fought in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. His notable employment consisted of Holly Farms, Perdue, and the Town of Ocean City (Water Department), from where he retired after 36 years. David had a special love for motorcycles as he was a retired member of Black Knights and became a Sgt. At Arms in 1987. In David’s life, Thursdays were for cutting grass and his grass had to be cut in a particular way. No matter the time or day, as long as David was in the house, he would be watching Westerns. His favorite westerns were Gunsmoke and Wagon Train. David leaves to cherish unforgettable, precious memories: his loving wife, Yvonne Baines; his four beautiful daughters, Janice (Russell, Jr.) Fooks of Delmar, DE, Denise Baine of Snow Hill, MD, DeShawn (Timothy) Thomas of Beltsville, MD and Shonda Baine of Snow Hill, MD; two granddaughters, Shyneika and Bre’Onya, whom he raised as his own; one brother, Kenneth (Sandra) Baine of Snow Hill, MD; four sisters, Maggie (Riley) Dale of Snow Hill, MD, Edna Copes of Salisbury, MD and Joyce Poulson and Sandra (Raymond) Maddox, both of Snow Hill, MD; 14 grandchildren, Tyrone, Lamont, Shyneice, TreVonn, Kay’Meir, Leon’Taye, Ray’Shon, Rai’Asia, Cameron, Ira, Kennedy and Timothy; 17 great grandchildren; one godson, Chris Waters of Girdletree, MD; one aunt, Leola Williams of Washington, DC; two uncles, Robert Baine of Snow Hill, MD and Andrew Baine of Upper Marlboro, MD; special friends, Rob Jackson, Rick Waters, Clifford Henry, Darrell Taylor, David Robins, Diane Douglas and Alonzo Baine and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends and other family members. He was preceded in death by: his parents, David I. Baines and Martha Foreman-Baines; one son, Keshawn McNeil; two brothers-in-law, Clarence Poulson and Jerry Copes; one nephew, Troy Bennett; one niece, Rolette Ayres and two great grandchildren, A’Mirah Collins and Kaiden Baine.
