Darnell G Lynch

Darnell’s Life Darnell Galen Lynch was born on March 4, 1956 to Josephine Lynch and the late James A. Lynch, Jr. He departed this life on January 16, 2023 at the Chester River Manor in Chestertown, Maryland. Many years ago, Darnell became a Faith Unity Fellowship Ministry, Inc. member. Realizing his way of life had taken many twists and turns, he eagerly reaffirmed his commitment to Jesus Christ in December 2022. Three times, his brother Elder James and Darnell recited Romans 10:9, “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” James wanted to make sure his brother understood his renewed commitment. During this time, they also enjoyed singing, “I’m going up to meet Him; joy and happiness shall be mine.” After attending Queen Anne’s County High School, Darnell became a soldier with the Army National Guard. He was stationed in South Carolina for six years, receiving an honorable discharge. Darnell worked many jobs during his life. However, starting his lawn service was one of his proudest accomplishments. He worked on the water most of his life with his two brothers, James and Larry, and enjoyed every minute of it. In their opinion, Darnell was one of the best oyster cullers around. During the summer months, he became the First Mate for his brother James. Having a kind heart to care for others while working, Darnell received many compliments from those on the charter boat. Darnell loved his family, especially his mother and sister. Playfully, he often called his sister Joanne Shorty. When she visited, he endearingly would say, “That’s my sister.” In return, Joanne lovingly nicknamed and called Darnell Camel. During Darnell’s life, he had many friends, such as Craig Wright, Michael Broadway, and Michael Cooper, just to mention a few. The family will also remember Doris Croker as one of Darnell’s fond long-time, faithful friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Lynch. He leaves to cherish his life: his wife, Shirlea Lynch; devoted mother, Josephine Lynch; dedicated brother, James Lynch (Catherine); loving sister, Joanne Handy; aunts, Bernadette Wright (George) and Shirley Green; uncle, William Lynch (Margaret) and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
