Carolyn Church Scott Moore Obituary Carolyn Church Scott Moore departed this life into eternal rest peacefully at the age of (eighty) 80 on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. Carolyn was born to the late Harry Tull Church and Hazel Irene Burris on June 29, 1941 in Delmar, Maryland, and was the youngest of eight children. Carolyn was married to the late Carroll James Scott, Jr. and together they had four children. Carolyn was educated in the Salisbury School District, graduating from Salisbury High School, class of 1959. She was also a graduate of Bowie State College, class of 1963, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She worked as an Elementary School Teacher for over twenty (20) years for the Phoenixville School District in Pennsylvania. Following retirement, Carolyn moved to Delmar, Maryland in 1998. Carolyn was a devoted member of Union United Methodist Church in Delmar, Maryland where she served on several committees including Union United Methodist Gospel Choir, Sunday School, Union United Methodist Woman, Worship and Scholarship Committees. Carolyn also sang as a soloist for weddings, church affairs and funerals later in life. Carolyn also served on the Save Our Children’s Committee, Lower Eastern Shore Bowie State Alumni Group as their Vice President and a member of the Scholarship Group which raised money for students to attend college. She also volunteered at the Salisbury Christian Shelter for many years and was a member of the Community Organization for Progress. Carolyn had a very sweet spirit and was kind to people and often greeted everyone with a beautiful smile. If you asked Carolyn how she was doing she would say, “I’m coming along.” Carolyn loved spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and friends. She will be missed for her beautiful, kindhearted personality and lovely smile. Cherished precious memories of Carolyn will continue among: her children, Ronald J. Scott, Hazel Samuel (Steven), Carroll James Scott III (Karen) and Lucille Scott Moussa (Adam); grandchildren, Lakeena Dickerson, Ronda Dickerson, Tyeena Scott, Simone Williams, Stacy Coleman, Avery Ramsey, Humza Moussa, Aaron Scott, and Carroll James Scott IV; six great grandchildren; siblings, Annabelle Dix, Harry Church, Jane Birckhead and Edward Church (Velverline); a sister-in-law, Jean Church and a host of nieces, nephews, and best friend, Diane Bivens. Carolyn was preceded in death by two sisters, Martie Mae Dashiell and Verdelle Sands and a brother, George Church. Lovingly Submitted by the Family
