Brenda Joyce Jones

BRENDA’S JOURNEY Brenda Joyce Jones, after a longtime illness, departed this earthly life on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Bay Harbor Post Acute and Healthcare Center in Salisbury, Maryland, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 13 1952, in Stockton, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Samuel Hudson, Sr. and Elaine Hudson McCray. She received her formal education in the Worcester County Public School Sy tem in Snow Hill, Maryland. At an early age, Brenda began her employment at the former Buddy Boys Poultry Plant in Snow Hill, Maryland. She also worked at Mountaire Farms in Millsboro, Delaware. Later, she briefly worked as a custodian at The Centre in Salisbury and later became a homemaker. Brenda began her spiritual journey at Coolspring United Methodist Church in Girdletree, Maryland. During her relocation to different cities, she attended many churches. During her later years, she attended the Open-Door Christian Community Ministries of Princess Anne, Maryland. She loved her church family and was a diligent and faithful member. Brenda loved fashion and was a “Fashionista.” She received accolades for her many outfits, matching from head to toe. She enjoyed getting dressed everyday just to go nowhere. During her tenure of stays at the rehab centers, she wanted her outfits, and they had to be matching. Playing Bingo was also a past time favorite. Fond memories of Brenda’s life will be cherished by: her children, Celestine (Darryl) Harris, Tisha Bivens, Thelma Jones Welch and Frank Marshall, Jr. (godson); her grandchildren, Aionyel Jones, Tanesha Hudson and Darreon Harris; her great-grandchildren, Zaniyah Jones, Kei’Mauri Chaney and El’Xorian Wyatt; her siblings, Geraldine (Leon) Hayward and Alfred (Anna) Hudson and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. Brenda was preceded in death by: her parents, Thomas Samuel Hudson, Sr. and Elaine Hudson McCray; her husband, Robert Jones; her sister, Peggy Manual; her son, Gregory Hudson and her brothers, Thomas Hudson, Jr. and Robert Hudson.
