Betty Ann Wilson Roberts

BETTY’S JOURNEY Betty Ann Wilson Roberts was born in Salisbury, Maryland to Annie May Wilson and Joseph Tucker (both deceased) on March 19, 1941. She matriculated at Salisbury Colored school system. Betty had a varied work career and attended Prince George's Community College where she took courses in management. These management courses propelled her career upward as she and her family moved to Hyattsville, Maryland to take a position as manager at EMS. There she worked for seventeen years until retiring. Betty was a faithful and active member of the Salisbury Seventh-Day Adventist Church (renamed New Life SDA Church) for many years where she was baptized. She also Bladensburg SDA Church, among other churches when she moved to Hyattsville and then Park SDA Church in Salisbury when she moved back home. She served her God faithfully and with gladness. She had a beautiful voice and sang whenever asked. She also served as Deaconess, Sabbath School Superintendent, Women’s Ministry Leader, Church Clerk and was invested as a Pathfinders Master Guide at the Colorado International Camporee in 1985 among other offices. Betty lived the word, shared the word of God with others and can expect to have many stars in her crown. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Yes, we who loved her will shed tears at the pain of losing her, but will eventually smile as a result of the sweet memories she left us. The life she lived will truly speak for her. Her final moments were spent peacefully in her home in Salisbury surrounded by her husband, her children, other close family members and friends. She passed away on Sabbath morning, June 17, 2023. She leaves behind to mourn her passing and to remember their times of happiness, love and shared laughter with: her husband, Freddie L. Roberts, Sr. and five children - Tyann E. Roberts, Freddie L. Roberts, Jr. (Zelda), Linda Roberts Avery (James), Michael L. Roberts (Melissa) and Patrick J. Roberts; seven grandchildren - Adrian Roberts (Ralea), Niya Avery, Jasmine Roberts, Michael Roberts, Jr., Brandon Roberts, Dominique Roberts and Camara Roberts and 10 great grandchildren; five siblings - Gloria Winder (deceased), Peggy Carter, Phyllis Tucker, Nina Tucker and Joseph Tucker, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews and in-laws. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Emma Wright, Earl Roberts, Jr., and Deshirl Rankins for their loving support before and during her illness. SORROWFULLY SUBMITTED ~ THE FAMILY
