There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 (NIV) Life story of Bartholomew Emmanuel Hull Life is a story told in volumes the past, the present and Yet-To-Be. The Past is all finished and laid away, the present we are living day-by-day, the third and final of the volumes is unknown to man, and only known to God. The book of life opened for Bartholomew E. Hull (73 years old) the oldest son of Mary Dashield Roberts and the late Alfred Wesley Hull on February 13, 1940 in Tyaskin, Maryland. Bartholomew received his education in the former Salisbury High School, Wicomico County; he was a graduate of the 1958 Class. He was also a member of the school band, playing the trombone, which he taught himself to play. As a child, he was a lover of all types of music. As a young man, he traveled with a jazz band, for years, playing his trombone. Later in his life, he enjoyed playing his trombone with his nephew, VaShawn, who would play the keyboard as he’d screamed out jazz notes for him to play. Vaughn, his brother-in-law, would play the bass guitar, and Brandon, his grandson, would join in playing the trumpet, making the band complete. At family gatherings, Bart always enjoyed playing music as the rest of the family sang, in his sister and brother-in-law’s music room. “Bart”, “Daddy” “Pop Pop” “Mule” and “ABC” as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was warm, kind, and always there to help everyone. He was known for his great sense of humor and his ability to fill any room he entered with laughter. He was down to earth, very outspoken and a man of integrity and extremely wise. Bart loved his family and would do anything to make them happy. He enjoyed family, he and his aunts, uncles and cousins would always travel from house to house playing pinnacle, all night long, rotating turns at the table. He was a lover of God’s creations - always being outside in the yard keeping it nice and trimmed, always building sheds, wooded benches, decks etc. planting his garden or on his boat fishing or just relaxing on the water. On Sundays he would attend church and ride his motorcycle. Other times you could find him eating ice cream with Sarah and his great grandchildren, giving them anything they wanted. He’d loved being on the computer with his grandson Brandon, or with his granddaughter Chakira, showing him something new on his cell phone. On sunny days, he enjoyed relaxing under the tree with his dogs Danny & Fred Hull. Bartholomew was employed at various places: Cold Water Seafood, Campbell Soup Company, Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Citizen Gas Company and Dealers Building Supply in Salisbury, MD, from where he retired. He also enjoyed his part-time job at Wade’s Repair Service and Westside Mini Market both located in Nanticoke, MD until his health no longer made it possible for him to continue working. He was a past member and Past Patron of the Lebanon Lodge No. 37 in Nanticoke, MD and a member of a motorcycle club, that he and his wife enjoyed riding with on Sunday afternoons. Bartholomew was also a Bonded Certified Locksmith. Bartholomew received his Christian walk at a young age at Freedman’s A.U.M.P. Church in Tyaskin, MD. He was baptized in June, 2012. He re-dedicated his life to Christ and attended Rapture Ready Ministries, Inc., Salisbury, MD until his Father called his home to rest. The Book of Life was closed on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 for our beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend at Coastal Hospice by the Lake. He was surrounded by his family, in prayer, as they were celebrating his life on earth before he slipped away for his eternal rest and peace with his heavenly Father. Beautiful memories of Bartholomew E. Hull’s life will forever be cherished by his devoted wife of 54 years, Sarah Duncan Hull. From this union came three daughters, Sabrina Hull, Baltimore, MD, Barthine Hull-Sells, Fayetta Hull-Polk (Calvin), both of Tyaskin, MD. He also leaves to mourn his mother, Mary Roberts, Tyaskin, MD, two grandchildren Chakira & Brandon Sells, two great-grand children Se’Renity Anyelle & Joshua Aaron all of Tyaskin, MD, two sisters Pastor Sharon (Vaughn) Sampson, Salisbury, MD, Andrea (Oscar) Price, Tyaskin, MD, two brothers Lumont (Denise) Dashield, West, VA, Mervin Dickerson Jr., Tyaskin, MD, one sister-in-law, Bettye Furniss, Atlanta, GA, close cousins Adolph & Ronald Hull Salisbury, MD, Gregory Hull, Tyaskin, MD and Minnie Camphor, Fort Washington, MD, six nieces, Vanita (De’Andre) Johnson, Salisbury, MD, DeRosia Price, Tyaskin, MD, Nicole Dickerson, Salisbury, MD, Lavonne & Dominique Dashield, Fort Washington, MD, Terri Furniss-Coston, Atlanta, GA, great-great niece Destiny Dashield, five nephews VaShawn Sampson, Salisbury, MD, Alden Morris, Essex, MD, Lumont Dashield Jr., Fort Washington, MD, Ted Furniss, Atlanta, GA, Mervin Dickerson III, Salisbury, MD and a host of cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by one sister Donzella Dashield, one brother Wayne Roberts, DE, three granddaughters, Brandi Sells, Chiantae’& Chakira Lanier.
