Aspinall "Buggy" Hamill Armstrong

ASPINALL’S JOURNEY Aspinall Hamill Armstrong, affectionately known as “Buggy,” son of the late Joseph E. Armstrong and Mary Tull Armstrong, was born on September 7, 1939 in Pocomoke City, Maryland. He peacefully departed this life on September 24, 2025 at the age of eighty-six 86). Aspinall was educated in the public schools of Pocomoke City, Maryland. He moved to Brooklyn, New York in his teens. His career path was varied. He drove for an ambulette service and was a supervisor at Breyers Ice Cream for several years. After retirement, he returned to Pocomoke City where he worked at various jobs. Aspinall was united in Holy Matrimony in 1963 to the former Aletha Barbara Brown who predeceased him in December 2001. He joined the United States Army in June of 1965. He received his military training in St. Louis, Missouri and was deployed overseas to Vietnam, where he earned several medals of distinction: Vietnam Service Medal (Bronze), Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal and Combat Infantry Badge. Aspinall was discharged honorably. Aspinall was loved by all with whom he crossed paths. The simple pleasures in life brought him great joy. He loved an evening filled with laughs and lively conversation, while enjoying the company of family and friends. He was genuine, authentic and so full of life. Aspinall was known to move to the beat of his own drum. He enjoyed listening to jazz, playing cards, cooking, fishing, crabbing, and making homemade wine. He was a big Yankees fan. We will continue to celebrate Buggy’s life in a way that he would have wanted. Not filled with sorrow, but with memories of good times, friendships and togetherness. So, we say cheers to memories of a wonderful father, grandfather, uncle, and friend who will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents and wife, Aspinall was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, Elwood and Jay, sister, Inez, and son, Wayne Mann. Precious memories will be cherished by: his children, Toni Armstrong-Scott, Debra Ann Brown (Step) and Sharon Armstrong (Step); grandchildren Tayvon, Wayne, Starr, Colby, Sharlene, Sherrie, Davante and Tyleke; great grandchildren, WynterLee, and Jayce; nieces, Yvonne and Josephine; nephews, Dwayne and Kyle; great niece, Brianna; great nephew Tod; great- great nephew, Tod, Jr.; special friends, Ardenna Williams and James Cox and a host of cousins and beloved friends.
