Annie L. Wheeless

Annie “Lafolia” Clemons Wheeless departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at home surrounded by her family whom she loved dearly. She was the daughter of the late John Moody Clemons and Lalor Bolden Clemons. Lafolia was the third eldest child of 8 siblings. She received her education in the public school system of Bunn County, North Carolina. At a very early age she accepted Jesus Christ into her life at Jones Hill Baptist Church. Lafolia relocated to Brooklyn, New York to pursue her career in Geriatric Nursing where she later joined Miracle Temple Church of God in Christ. Along side of her husband, the late Minister Archie Wheeless, whom she loved and married in 1953, out of this union they were blessed with three children. Lafolia worked at Brooklyn Eyes and Ears Hospital for many years and retired from United Methodist Nursing home after 32 years of service. After retirement she and her husband decided to move to Snow Hill, Maryland. Lofolia joined Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church and remained a member until she departed this life. As she takes her journey with the Lord, she leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Dewayne (Cynthia) Wheeless of Brooklyn, New York; one daughter Ramona Wheeless (Clifton) Waters of Snow Hill, Maryland; one brother, Johnny Bake (Esther) Clemons of Newark, Delaware; one sister, Mayola Williams of Raleigh, North Carolina; one brother-in-law, Chester Harris of North Carolina; 17 grandchildren—Gary Graham, Patrick Graham, Khamel Wheeless, Ramella Wilson, Clarissa Wilson, Cashmere Wilson, Ravon Wheeless, Daevon Wheeless, Johvon Waters, Rashad Wheeless, Halima Wheeless, Jamiel Erskins, Bayshon Erskins, Selena Erskins and Azure Erskins; 10 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Audrey Wheeless Graham; two grand children, Eyonne and Annie Wilson; one great grandchild, Miracle Wilson; two sisters, Janice and Louvenia and three brothers, Joseph, James Mccoy and Timothy.
