Willard’s Journey... Willard Norman Beach, Sr. was the youngest son of the late John Edward and Margaret (Kellam) Beach. Born on November 09, 1943 in Wachapreague, Virginia, he received his heavenly wings, transitioning from labor to reward on November 13, 2021 at Tidal Health Hospital in Salisbury, Maryland. Affectionately known as “Beach”, he grew up in church and at an early age joined Herbert Baptist Church in Wachapreague, Virginia where he was a faithful member until he went into the military. “Beach” received his formal education in Accomack County public school system, graduating from Mary N. Smith High School in 1961. After graduation, he was drafted during the Vietnam Era, into the United States Army. He was assigned to the 7th Army 5th Missile BN., 6th Artillery and later received an honorable discharge. On December 5, 1964, “Beach” was united in Holy Matrimony with Patricia Von Fletcher. Their union was blessed with one son, Willard, Jr, and one daughter, Denise. His family was the center of his life, especially his grandchildren, Kevin, Jr., Kaila and Janelle. Following his Military Service, “Beach” relocated to New York City. He was offered a job in Washington, DC with the Department of Defense (DOD) as a Federal Police Officer and assigned to the Naval District of Washington, DC. “Beach” retired in 1998, at the rank of Lieutenant. After retirement “Beach” relocated to Hebron, Maryland. He joined Mills Memorial Baptist Temple, where he served as an Usher and Trustee until his health began to decline. “Beach” always enjoyed fishing, but during his retirement years, he found a new passion and became an avid farmer. He had a faithful following, earning him his new name of “Farmer Beach”, from his customers. Football was a family favorite past time and became quite competitive in the household. Everyone in the house was a true Washington Redskins fan, but “Beach” desired ABSOLUTELY no part of that; Dallas Cowboys was the ONLY way for him. “Beach’s” survivors left to cherish his memories are: his devoted wife, Patricia Beach of Hebron, MD; his children, Willard (Sharon) of Upper Marlboro, MD and Denise (Kevin) of Woodstock, MD; three grandchildren, Kevin, Jr., Kaila, and Janelle; his siblings, Gladys Davis, Clifford Beach and Rufus Beach, all of Accomac, Virginia, Molly Parker (Mitchell) of Ben Salem, PA and Alice Alexander of Williamsburg, VA; one Sister-in-Love, Debarra Davis of Fort Washington, MD, two God Sisters-in-Love, Lashone Holley (Brian) of Baltimore, MD and Maxine Ray of Edenton, NC and a few VERY special bonus family members, John Weil (Colleen) and Tracey Martin, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and MANY friends. “Beach” was preceded in death by two siblings, Margaret and Edward Beach.
