Wallace Edward Hayman

Wallace (Wally) Edward Hayman, a resident of Delmar, Delaware, was granted his angel wings at the of seventy-two (72), on Monday, May 8, 2017 as a result of a long battle of illnesses. Wallace Hayman, son of the late James Jolley and Priscilla Hayman, was born on April 6, 1945 in Mardela, Maryland. He graduated from Salisbury High School in Salisbury, Maryland in 1964. He married his best friend, Joan Holland, on September 25, 1971 in Sharptown, Maryland. Wallace was employed by Campbell Soup (Salisbury, Maryland), Dupont (Seaford, Delaware) and General Motors (Newport, Delaware), from where retired in 2000, after working there for 26 years. Wally was one of the original members of the Wilmington Chapter of the Thunderguard Motorcycle Club. He loved being with his family and his motorcycle family. He loved riding motorcycles, playing cards, horseshoes and drinking his Budweiser’s. Wally was a very caring man and always willing to lend a hand and help in any way he could. Those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quality of time in which one lives. With his courage, he led us to believe that each day is a blessing and opportunity to create lasting memories. As he said, "Try hard and you will succeed." With Wally’s passing, we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him every day, he will forever remain in our hearts. He may be gone, but will never be forgotten. In addition to his wife, Joan Hayman, he leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Angela Morgan (Derrick) and Wallace Farrare (Francis) of Salisbury, Maryland, Linnette Braham (Maury) of Bear, Delaware and Noshia Hayman of Delmar, Delaware; sisters, Sylvia Stanley (Eugene) of San Domingo, Maryland, Cecilia Etheridge (Thomas) of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, Theresa Jolley of San Domingo, Maryland, Angelia Johnson (Columbia) of Salisbury, Maryland and Paulthenia Jolley of San Domingo, Maryland; brother, William Hayman (Jackson) of Laurel, Delaware; aunts, Jacqueline Smullen (Melvin) of Mardela Springs, Maryland and Armenthia Gunther of Chesapeake, Virginia; uncles, Marshall Jolley and Robert Jolley (Shirley) of Mardela Springs, Maryland and Thomas Hayman of Salisbury, Maryland; mother-in-law, Anna (Isabelle) Holland; sisters-in-law, Jean Holland, Sylvia Holland, Gloria Gaines, and Brenda Downing all of Delmar, Delaware; 17 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Wallace was preceded in death by his sons, Bryan Hayman and George Johnson, grandson Deion Harris, sisters, Patricia Jolley and, Sandra (Sandy Lee) Sanders (Hayman), aunts, Lois Parker and Gertrude Stanley and uncles Albert Hayman and Levi Hayman.
