Vemita C. Owens Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

On November 21, 2021, the Lord called upon Vemita to become one of His beautiful angels, and peacefully, she surrendered. Vemita “Vee” Harris Owens, was born on July 18, 1962. To Juliette Jones-Williams. Vemita had a “sassy” personality, that attracted people to her from all walks of life! Her sweet spirit and friendly smile would bright the atmosphere. Vemita received her education in the Milford School District, Milford, Delaware, and continued her education at Delaware Technical & Community College (northern and southern campuses), graduating with an Associate’s Degree in Business. She was employed by the State of Delaware in the Corporations Department. She also worked at Dove Educational Community Center as a secretary. Vee later perused a career as an insurance agent for Kemper Insurance Agency, for 10 years. She loved her clients and served them until her health began to fail. Vemita was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Harris; and grandparents, Rose Harris and Clifford Harris, all of Milford, DE. Vemita leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 23 years, Johnny Owens; sons, Carl, Greg and Stephen of Delaware, Johnny Monique, Ty and Juanette of Louisiana, Jerry Weeks of Dover; her mother, Julitte Jones-Williams; sisters, Charlene (Kyle) of Magnolia, DE, Karen Brady Scott of Philadelphia, PA and Cindy Brady of Dover, DE; brothers, Anthony (Janessa) and Kevin (Annette) both of Smyrna, DE; sisters-in-law, Linda Lewis of Dover, DE, Robin Worthy (Eddie) and Tanya Owens of Lincoln, DE; brothers-in-law, Richard (Aqrey) of Millsboro, DE, Keith Owens of Princess Anne, MD, Calvin Owens (Sherry) of Frederica, DE and Linsey Owens (Shonda) of Texas; grandchildren, Geona, Johnny III, Christopher, Ahmani, Staynla, Naja, Kayleigh, Stanley, DeAurie, Nyasia, Julian, Carlie & Cailani; and her Frontline Ministries Church Family.
