SANDRA’S JOURNEY Sandra Lee Bailey Moore, the daughter of the late McKelery and Frances C. Bailey, was born on August 20, 1940 in Salisbury, Maryland. She peacefully departed this life on January 22, 2022 in her home on Polks Road in Princess Anne, Maryland. She received her formal education in the public schools in Somerset County, Princess Anne Maryland, where she graduated and continued to further her education in English and computer Keyboarding at Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury, Maryland. She was employed at Green Giant Company in Fruitland, Maryland and Campbell Soup Company in Salisbury, Maryland, from where she retired after thirty-three (33) years of employment. After leaving Campbell Soup, Sandra worked at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) in food service for twenty (20) years. Reared in a Christian home, she attended both Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and Trinity United Methodist Community Worship Center, formerly known as St. Paul Methodist Church on Mission Road in Princess Anne, Maryland. She was a former member of the Usher Board and the Busy Bees and an active member of the choir, Finance Committee, Chairperson of the Building Fund and member of the Mt. Zion Historical Society. Every year she faithfully organized the annual Holbrook and Bailey Day. Sandra enjoyed, writing poetry, spending time with her family and those religiously frequent trips to Boscov’s. In 1999, she attended a convention in Reno, Nevada where she won the “Diamond Homer Award” from the Famous Poets Society for outstanding achievement for her poem entitled “Hallelujah.” Sandra was united in Holy Matrimony to William David Moore. She leaves to cherish loving memories: four children, Gentry Moore (Almettrus) of Princess Anne, Maryland, Sheila Brent (Radford) of Eden, Maryland, Billie Cornish of Salisbury, Maryland and DeAndra Martin of Princess Anne, Maryland; one sister, Emily Fuller of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; one aunt, Florence Holbrook of Princess Anne, Maryland; nine grandchildren, Alan (also known as AD), Maurice, Kendra, Justin, LaShaunda, Brennan, Lynsie, Jayden and Karis; twenty-three great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Elva Claudette Williams and Marqueritte Leatherbury, one brother, William Lorenzie Bailey, Sr. and one grandson, Dionne Cornish. Sandra was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. LOVINGLY SUBMITTED ~ THE FAMILY
