Robert Lee Hopkins

December 17, 1944 - March 3, 2022

Robert L. “Hoppy” Hopkins, 77, of Millsboro, Delaware, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. Robert was born on December 17, 1944, to the late Curtis and Mary (Watson) Hopkins, in Millsboro, Delaware. He attended William C. Jason Comprehensive High School and then made the decision to join the military. He spent more than 20 years serving in the United States Navy before retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. After retirement, he worked with longtime friend, Ronald Chorman, as a store clerk. Robert’s fondest memories included all the time spent with his friends within the local community. Robert was preceded in death by his brothers, Daniel Hopkins (Dorothy), Samuel R. Hopkins, (Margaret) John Hopkins and his only sister, Moezell Hyland (Harvey). Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his beautiful wife of 54 years, Evelyn (nee Bryant); four children, daughters, Roslyn, Carolyn (Tiano) and Nichols, Dawn and son, Robert. He was the loving grandfather to Lashae, Jyaire, Courtney, Aliyah, Chris, Sierra, Tyler, Savanna, Olivia, and Kenzie; four great- grandchildren, Eli, Milo, Hanna, and Alexander; one brother, Nathaniel Hopkins (Edith); loving sister-in-law, Margaret Hopkins; and a host of loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
