MICHAEL’S JOURNEY… On March 4, 1957, Michael Elwood Armstrong was born to Emma Waters and the late Joseph Armstrong. On Monday May 2, 2022, God called his name, and he went home to be with the Lord. Mike, as he was lovingly known, was raised in Snow Hill, Maryland and received his education through Worcester County public schools. He worked various jobs throughout his life including Perdue, Worcester County Jail, UMES and the World Trade Center. Michael was introduced to Jesus at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Snow Hill, MD. In 1982, Michael married the love of his life, Edith Armstrong and moved to Pocomoke City, MD. In 1983, he met Pastor Margret Jones and began his run for Jesus. He served as the Deacon of Jesus Christ House of Worship, faithfully taught Sunday School, sang on the praise team, led devotional service, and made sure he provided transportation for the saints. Michael loved God and God’s people. As you know, Michael did not mind being a bold witness, telling others about the goodness of Jesus Christ, and was determined to make it to Heaven. Michael was known for his famous sayings, “If you don’t see me again, I’ll meet you in the clouds.” “Are you going to heaven or what?” “What is love?” Some would say Michael left and didn’t say goodbye, but if you knew him, you could figure out what he would have said to you. To my wife my queen, “Keep preaching.” Mom, “Be healed. I love you and Jesus loves you more.” Ambere and Jordan, “Love each other and tell everyone about Jesus.” Godchildren, “Get saved.” Family and friends, “Get saved, it’s heaven or hell, your choice. To the church, “Get right, live holy, praise God, and meet me in the air.” I didn’t lose the battle to any of my afflictions, but I gained victory and went home to be with the Lord. “All is Well.” He leaves to cherish unforgettable memories: his loving wife, Edith Armstrong; a daughter Ambere (Jordan) Asbury of Norfolk, VA; his mother, Emma Waters of Snow Hill, MD; four sisters, Yvonne Armstrong of Snow Hill, MD, Josephine Armstrong of Parksley, VA, Deborah Smith of Wilmington, DE and Cheryl Dorsey of Snow Hill, MD; one brother, Duane Armstrong of Snow Hill, MD; three godchildren, Shatara Purnell, Sequena Purnell and Damien Purnell, all of Norfolk, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, the DeShields and his church family, Jesus Christ House of Worship. His father, Joseph Armstrong, preceded him in death. Today we thank God for the life of Michael Elwood Armstrong. We will miss his laughter and love. “All is well” “Hallelujah” Lovingly Submitted – The Family
