McDonald Roberts

September 14, 1947 - March 13, 2022

McDonald Monroe “Rabbi” Roberts, was born September 14, 1947, to Birdie Wilson and Leon Roberts. He departed this life on March 13, 2022. McDonald met his wife, Alice on The Lady Baltimore Cruise Ship in 1998 and were married in 1999. They were happily married for 23 years. McDonald attended Coleman Elementary School and Garnett High School. McDonald was a member of Union United Methodist Church. He served as an Usher, Trustee, sang on the Men’s Choir, and always helped with the Culinary Committee. McDonald worked for Local Union 199 for many years. After retirement, he worked for Star Building Services. McDonald was on the Delaware Bowling League. He loved to work on cars and loved to go fishing and hunting. The biggest loves of his life were his daughter, Cherese Roberts, son, Isaiah Patrick Roberts, daughter-in-law, Darling Patrick Roberts and his grandchildren, Tyler Roberts and Alayah Sky. McDonald was preceded in death by his mother, Birdie; father, Leon; brothers, Eugene Edward Roberts and Hyle Roberts. McDonald leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Alice Roberts; son, Isaiah Patrick Roberts (Darling); two grandchildren; his sister, Yvonne Roberts Fenwick; brothers, Leon, Paul (Darlene), Billy (Brenda) and Kevin (Rev. Diane); special friends, Ronnie Martin, Roland Stevenson (Kim), Al Fawra, John Camper, Otto Nash (Lynn); his barber, JT Tillman; and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.
