Isaac Winfield Emory
November 20, 1935 - April 14, 2022
Isaac W. Emory Isaac was born in Trappe Station, Maryland on November 20, 1935 to the late Elizabeth and Winfield Emory. He transitioned from earth to glory on Thursday, April 14, 2022. The family moved to O. A. Newton Farm in Bridgeville, Delaware. He attended Phillis Wheatley Elementary School in Bridgeville, Delaware and William C. Jason Comprehensive High School in Georgetown, Delaware. During the summers, he worked as a farm hand, driving tractors and trucks. Isaac became very skillful in moving loaded trailers in small crammed spaces. These skills became an asset, later in life. In 1956, Isaac enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. During his 4 years, he was stationed at Paris Island, South Carolina, Pickle Meadows/Camp Pendleton, California, Okinawa, Japan and Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. In 1960, Isaac was honorably discharged. He soon focused on and was hired to drive….”A Big Rig.” His CB Handle was “Black Rider.” His companies of employment were: Wheatley Trucking in Cambridge, Maryland, Newton’s in Bridgeville, Delaware, General Foods in Dover, Delaware, Draper King Cole in Milton, Delaware and Schiff’s Transport in Harrington, Delaware. Isaac was a family man. He married twice and fathered several children. His marriage to Pauline Williams lasted forty-two (42) years. Isaac and Pauline were cheerful givers of their time and financial support to their church, Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Ellendale, Delaware. Each year, he sponsored The Annual Truck Drivers Day. During his sixty (60) years of driving a Big Rig, God made him a fisher of men. All of his friends from many states would bring their trucks, park them on display, then attend an Afternoon Worship Service. With pride, he would point to and talk about the beautiful trucks. He was blessed over the years with many friends, young and old, male and female. Everyone knew he loved to talk, was extremely opinionated, a picky-eater, loved loud music, enjoyed watching football, and loved the “cowboys.” But most of all, his Greatest Joy was Big Rig Trucks… “Big Noisy Trucks.” Preceding him in death are: his parents, Winfield H. and Elizabeth (Doll) Emory; wife, Pauline Vickers Williams Emory; sons, Ronald Williams, Wade Winfield Jones and Anthony Aaron Williams; one daughter, Odessa Emory; brothers, Charles C. Emory, Sr., John Wesley J. Emory, Sr., S. Maurice Emory and Howard E. Emory; sisters-in-law, Eloise Emory and Ella Mae Daniels; brothers-in-law, William J. Dixon, David R. Robinson, Willis H. Isaac leaves to cherish loving memories: daughters, Claudette Franklin (Eric) and Sheila Smith Molock; son, Willie Green Council (Denise); adopted son, Darrell Melvin (Debbie); daughter-in-law, Reverend Viola Jones; sisters, Helen E. Dixon and Elizabeth Robinson; sister-in-law, Mildred Vickers; brother-in-law, Ernest Vickers (Catherine); granddaughters, Beverly Fountain, Imani Hackett, Anitra Pace, Angel Jones, Amory Emory and Justus Emory; grandsons, Marcus Jones, Sr. (Linda), Anthony Fountain (Brittany) and Marcus Emory; nephews, William Mason Dixon (Sharon), Charles C.
