Gregory James Jones

November 12, 1962 - March 18, 2022

Gregory James Jones (Hammer), departed his life on Friday, March 18, 2022, at the age of 59. He was born November 12, 1962 in Holyoke, Massachusetts to the late James and Alice Jones. Gregory graduated from North Dorchester High School in 1980. While employed at Airpax, he continued his education at Del Tech and the Maryland Apprenticeship and Training Council to become a machinist in 1990. He was employed with Kira-Aerospace – Nasa Wallops Island for 19 years. Gregory was a faithful member of Hurlock United Methodist Church. He served on the Usher Board and Lay Leadership Committee. He was a former President of the United Methodist Men. He sung with the United Gospel Travelers and the Spiritual Vessels for 29 years. He was a manager of the Spiritual Vessels from 2014 -2018. His favorite past time was working in the yard and going to car shows. He was a dedicated and hardworking man who loved to spend time with his family. He also enjoyed helping others in the time of need. Gregory was preceded in death by his parents: Alice Marie Jones and James Irvin Jones; mother and father-in-law, Charles & Betty Sudler; four aunts, Rebecca Hair (Claudie), Beatrice Camper, Cora Camper and Lettie Boggs (Roosevelt); one uncle, Otho Jones, Jr. and one brother-in-law, Donald Gaines, Sr. Gregory leaves cherished memories with his lovely wife, Barbara Sudler Jones; three children, Wykeshia Pierce, Al’Toya Jones, Terrance Jones; two grandchildren, Chad Stanley (Little Man), Ariella Armwood-Jones (Little Soul); one brother Karnie Jones (Freda) and one sister, Michelle Jones; one niece, Jerika Jones; one aunt, Betholine Woolford; three uncles, Mark Jones, Sr. (Mary), Roland Jones, Sr. (Enola), Donald Camper (Carolyn); four sisters- in-law, Gloria Dill, Ann Sudler, Dorothy Brooks, Rhonda Sudler, and a host of cousins and friends.
