Gladys Darlene Upshur

June 1, 1957 - January 5, 2022

A Time to be born Gladys Darlene Upshur, daughter of the late Charles Edward Upshur and Annie V. Upshur, was born on June 1, 1957. She was translated into the Lord eternal service on January 5,2022 With her loving family by her side. A Time to Grow Darlene, as she was lovingly known to family and friends, was educated in the Indian River Public School System. She was a former member of Salisbury Revival Center under the dearly beloved and departed Apostle James and Pastor Essie Gran, until her membership was reassigned to grow in grace Worship, in Delmar, Maryland. Her final days of employment were spent as a senior companion at AmeriCorps Seniors there the First State Community Action Agency in Laurel, Delaware. Darlene served over 8000 hours from 2013 until health declined in 2021. She learned how to crochet and made sleeping Mats for the homeless. Darlene was warm, compassionate, enriched with love and would give you the clothes of her back. She never missed an opportunity to showcase God’s live with a bright infections smile and a “hey doll baby” as only she could say it. Time to love Darlene leaves to cherish loving memories; Geneva Upshur, Brandi Upshur and Paige Upshur, Peaches Jamar Terrance and Tracy, 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, six sisters, Carolyn, Gloria, Ada Yvonne, Gail, Cherie, Dons, 3 brothers Fayne, Elton and Charles, and a hosts of other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving parent Charles and Annie Upshur. A Time To Rejoice On Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Tidal heath in Salisbury, Maryland. Darlene received her Reassignment from earth to heaven after a short illness never to feel pain again. Lovingly Submitted by the Family
