Emmons W. Brown

Emmons Wyatt Brown, son of the late Emmons Brown and Minerva Phillips was born on April 22, 1961 at Kent and Queen Anne’s Hospital in Chestertown, Maryland. He departed this life suddenly on March 13, 2015. “Wyatt”, as everyone called him, graduated from Kent County High School in Worton, MD in 1979. Wyatt, while in high school, was a drummer in the band. After graduation, he enlisted in the Army National Guards in Chestertown, MD and served from 1979 to 1981. Later on in life, he was employed by various companies in the Chestertown, MD area, such as: Echo Hill Outdoor Summer Camp, Dorsey’s Bus Service, Upper Shore Aging Inc., State Road and Highway Administration, Sun Trust Bank and Chestertown Bank. On July 3, 1982, he was united in marriage to Lucille (Shelly) Hutchins of Chestertown, MD. The family moved to Delaware in February of 2004. Wyatt was still traveling to Maryland to work; but now at the courthouse in Centreville, MD. He later received employment in Delaware at the Wilmington College in the janitorial department. Later, he was promoted to the supervisor’s position. Afterwards, he was hired by Progressive Auto Insurance and also managed the Clearview Car Wash all in Dover, DE. He was still employed by all. Wyatt’s hobbies included: antique trucks, fishing, old school music, TV Land Shows and detailing cars and trucks. Wyatt leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Luchille (Shelly) Hutchins Brown of DE; two daughters, Tishawn and Latoya Brown both of DE; one granddaughter, Nalani Bhatti of DE; mother, Minerva Phillips of MD; mother-in-law, Delores Hutchins of MD; sister, Kathleen Murray of DE; sister-in-law, Vanessa Hutchins of MD; brother-in-law, Thomas Hutchins, Jr. (Mary) of MD; future son-in-law, Nasir Bhatti of DE; sister, Portia Turner of MD; sister, Bonita Harris of MD; sister, Hope Cotton (Sherman) of MD; sister, Rosemary Johnson of DE; sister, Ramona Walley of PA; brother, Hubert Phillips (Jolley) of MD; brother, Ronnie Phillips (Val) of DE; first cousins, Brian and Skeeter Brooks of PA and James Brodie of PA; three life-long friends, Dana Roberts of NJ, Melvin Wilson of MD and Eugene Hynson of MD; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
