Elaine Weaver Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Elaine Weaver, of Wilmington, Delaware, departed this life on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at the age of 60, at home. She was born on June 8, 1961. She graduated from Milford High School and attended Goldey-Beacom College. Elaine had an overwhelming love for each of her children, and the utmost honor for her mother. She valued the bond of her family and friends and would gather with them for any occasion – often on her mother’s porch or in the backyard. She made you feel welcomed and had an undeniable energy. When she’d have a good story to tell, she’d often start off with, “I’m saying!” or “Now you know…”. She loved shopping for new clothes and when she found something she liked, she’d say, “I found this “baaaddd jacket” or these “baadd shoes”. Cooking came easy to her, and she was an avid seafood-lover. Her energy for life, the love she shared, and her smile will forever remain in our hearts. Elaine was preceded in death by her father, Nathaniel Powell, Jr.; brother, Dennis R. Weaver; sister, Jean V. Powell; brother, Wayman Paskins; stepfather, James Davis, Jr.; and her grandson, Ameer T. Paul. Elaine leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Sadie M. Davis (Weaver); children, Shahmee Paul (Alvin), Sheea L. Weaver and Kyheen P. Weaver; siblings, Nathan A. Powell (Gwen), Delema M. Duffy (Frederick), Earl L. Smith, Dwayne Powell; two stepsisters, Eunette Warren and Sharon Fails; beloved cousins; a host of nieces and nephews, including Jeffrey Harris, whom she simply called “favorite nephew” and L. Amari Weaver. There was a myriad of dear friends, especially Norris Smiley, whom she leaves to cherish her memory.
