David Roosevelt Palmer Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

David’s Journey David Roosevelt Palmer, son of the late Dorothy Trader Palmer and Joseph Palmer, was born on May 30, 1951. He departed from this earthly life to everlasting life on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, suddenly, at the age of seventy-one (71). He attended public schools in Wicomico County, Maryland. After school, he served in the United States Army briefly. Always believing in giving his best to do for other, David was an avid member of the Fruitland Friends and Family committee. He was there whenever needed and could always be counted on to assist. He was employed for several years at Perdue Farms in Salisbury, Maryland and J.V. Wells in Sharptown, Maryland for several years until its’ closing. From there he was employed at Ocean Pines Public Works until he retired. After retirement, he continued to work for the City of Ocean Pines until his last day on the earth. David was united in holy matrimony to Donna L. Palmer on Saturday, September 20, 1980. They shared a marriage of love, devotion and respect for thirty-eight (38) years until her earthly departure in 2018. Daddy, Dad, Uncle David, Uncle Dave, Poppy and Pop-Pop, were all names he was affectionately called by family and friends. He was truly a great man who loved singing, dancing, talking trash to his buddies and making others laugh. Everyone he came in contact with loved and respected him. He loved the “Dallas Cowboys” and going fishing with his son-in-law. All who knew him definitely will miss his presence greatly. He possessed a true, loving and caring heart. He leaves to cherish fond memories of his life: five children, Candice Polk (Don) of Eden, Maryland, Marshika Jones (William), Devete Palmer, Dana Duncan (Albert) and Deana Palmer, all of Salisbury, Maryland; 18 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; (read silently), Ayishan Barkley, Tamera Blake, Quron Banks, Mikaila Wyche, Brieanna Polk-Adams, Nekye Polk, Aiden, Alyssa and Asher Duncan, Derale Palmer, Jr., Dehvanta Palmer, Harlem Palmer, Juelz Palmer, Latresha PocQuan and Jermod Williams; three sisters, Juanita Palmer, Norma Horsey (James) and Rosalee Palmer, all of Salisbury, Maryland; one brother, Norman Palmer of Salisbury, Maryland; one aunt, Beulah Trader of Salisbury, Maryland and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. David was preceded in death by: two brothers, Joseph Randolph Palmer and Theodore Palmer; three aunts, Edith Wallop, Georgia Hutt, and Roxie Cottman and two uncles, Vaughn Trader and Edgar Trader.
