The Life and Legacy of Cynthia Marie Blake When peace like a river attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll; Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say, It is well, it is well with my soul. Cynthia Marie Drummond Blake was born on October 15, 1959 in Worcester County, Maryland to Grace Mary Drummond and the late Paige Conquest, Sr. She departed this life suddenly at her home in Pocomoke City, Maryland at the age of sixty-two (62). Cynthia graduated from Pocomoke High School with the Class of 1977. After graduation, she entered the workforce. She worked multiple jobs to support her family. She was the manager at Pocomoke Hardees, a front desk clerk at Days Inn and her most recent front desk clerk job at Holiday Inn Express in Pocomoke City, Maryland. The pandemic would cause her to retire early. Cynthia was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed reading books, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. She was big supporter of her children and grandchildren, whom she loved so much. The memory of Cynthia will forever be remembered by: her mother Grace Drummond of Pocomoke, Maryland; three children, Yolanda Pettit (Samuel) of Pocomoke, Maryland, Corey Deshields (Linda) of Bear, Delaware and Kimberly Deshields of Pocomoke, Maryland and a special son, Terrance Ewell of Pocomoke, Maryland; ten grandchildren, Eric Ward, Jr., Niasia Drummond, Dimarise, Jameer, Corey, Jr. and Sy’air Deshields, Isis Davis, Tymera Deshields, Adrian Marshall and Jaleel Ewell; three great grandchildren, Legacy, Parker and Seniya Deshields; seven brothers, Kenneth Drummond (Lovely) of Laurel, Maryland, Lucius Brown (Tara) of Wilmington, Delaware, Greg Conquest and Ivan Conquest (Sandy), both of Salisbury, Maryland, Willis Conquest of Georgetown, Delaware and Paige Conquest, Jr. of Pocomoke, Maryland; one sister, Juanita Holden of Pocomoke, Maryland and one sister-in-law, Lana Cropper of Wilmington, Delaware and one brother-in-law, Cornell Waters, Sr. of New Castle, Delaware; two special friends, Deani Taylor and Brenda Marshall and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends. Cynthia was preceded in death by her father, Paige Conquest, Sr., brothers, Jesse, Robert, Samuel and Vernon Cropper and Ricky Conquest and sisters, Mildred Cropper and Althea Waters.
