Celebrating The Life of Betty Jane Whittington Betty Jane Whittington was born in Princess Anne, Maryland on Friday, December 27, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Orlando and Margaret Bivens. Betty peacefully departed this life on Monday June 13, 2022 at Tidal Health in Salisbury, Maryland. Betty was a member of New Psalmist Nondenominational Church in Westover, Maryland under the leadership of Pastor Glendon A. Jones, Jr. Betty was educated in the Somerset County public school system. She worked a number of jobs and in the mid 1980’s Betty received her certificate as a Certified Nurse Assistant. After years of labor and public service, she retired at the age of fifty-nine (59). Betty also worked with many volunteer groups throughout the years and was kind and very friendly to everyone she met. Betty was married to Brantley Whittington, Jr. for fifty (50) glorious years prior to his earthly departure from this life in January 2020. She leaves precious memories with: her children, Lyndell J. Taylor of Charlotte, North Carolina, Ronald G. Taylor of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Mary Jane (Bernard) Johnson of Marion, Maryland and Brandon D. (Genice) Taylor of Salisbury, Maryland. Betty also leaves behind her younger, loving sister, Viola Jones of Eden, Maryland and a sister-in-law, Joan Cannon of Oaksville, Maryland. She also leaves a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Edith L. Taylor, Norma F.
